Recently i did this interview with Misery- and posted on the forum "DAB - Replays", brazilian community where we share competitives replays . Today im providing this interview, i think that has been very good. Here we go. ;) Personal questions: ________________________________ Name: Rasmus Berth Filipsen Age: 18 Study or have a job? Studying Hobbies? Football, party, DotA, friends When you started playing dota? soon 3 years ago I believe. How did you come up with your nickname? Don't know really..but it looks cool doesn't it? :) PC Configs: Don't know Internet speed: Don't know Competitive Dota: ________________________________ Tell us a little about yourself. Which clans you played, rneys you participated and won, friends you made in DOTA, etc How is your relationship with Ravens!? Your departure was all fine or you hate them now? Well, I guess I started out in Cartoons United with Donald-Duck. Then I joined Met that became ravens and now I play in Fnatic. Well I participated in a huge amount of online tourneys which I cant be arsed to tell about, and except from that I played at DH winter 2008 and DL Masters with Met where we became 4 and 3rd. Lately I played Gamescom with fnatic as well as Dreamhack summer 09, where we won both. My relationship with Ravens is totally relaxing, we often play together in Pride league, scrims or funmaps even. In your opinion, who is the best player nowadays? Why? Except from me? I would say Loda is the best player, why? hes the one thats closest to my level. Which player wins the most annoying voice award? (hahaha) a guy called Hear7less is the most annoying guy on the planet. In this year we've seen clans disbanding, changing sponsors, changing line-ups, the dota scene changed a lot. In your opinion, which team is the strongest nowadays? I would say fnatic is the best team at the moment. And we are looking forward to prove it if we go to SMM in malaysia. What is your opinion about players using Map Hack? They deserve another chance or die in hell? ofcause they deserve a second chance, freezer. Can you tell us what your sponsor gives to you and your teams besides a part of tourney prizes? Do you think someday players will support his families playing Dota? Do you see future in dota as an e-sport? We get hardware and lan support. I think DotA is the most funny game to play and I really hope it will be more accepted as an E-Sports in the future. I doubt I will be able to feed my family by playing, but it could be awesome if it was like that, haha.. :P What's the secret besides the new "Scandinavian's dotA"? Fnatic and Ravens are showing unbelievebles results even if Denmark and Sweden never got a considerable number of players as we see in Russia, Phillipines, China, Malaysia or even Brazil. DENMARK HAS GOT TALENT. Nah tbh, I don't have an answer to that, it's maybe about our general way of thinking in scandinavia that fits the DotA gameplay atm or something weird stuff like that, but I don't know. :D Your friends and parents knows you're a professional gamer? What they think about it? Well my family thought it was strange in the beginning, but they got used to it and they now fully support me. Same with my closest friends. But generally it doesn't really affect my relationship to my friends irl. some of my friends don't know im playing DotA and others knows it, it doesnt matter that much. What do your family thinks about Dota? They know that you are a pro-player and one of the best in the whole world or they think you are only a nerd who plays some wierd game that you kill some monsters? Well, my father is really interested in how it's going in the dota world and I already explained him how it works. My mother is a bit different though, she would rather want me to go be active outside and love the nature n shit, terrible. New games: ________________________________ You've played League of Legends on GamesCon right? What did you think about that game? It has some future? What about Heroes of Newerth? I played a few games of League of Legends and I thought it was okay, but it's nothing i have the patience to put myself into. Do you believe HoN or LoL could replace Dota someday? I doubt it right now, I think the games has to change alot to be able to play competitively Fnatic: ________________________________ How do you see Fnatic in the international scenary? The team needs something? Which tourneys you are participating or pretend to participate in this second semester? Well, I think the team is close to perfect now, I don't think we could replace anyone. I hope we will go to SMM badly, but if it's not possible, we are gonna go to Dreamhack Winter. What is your relationship with Loda? Is he a prepotent guy or behind that beautiful blonde hair he is a cool guy? My relationship to both KwoM and Loda is pretty good, we talked alot and had a really nice time at GamesCom and looking forward to meet them all again. Soo I'd say apart from the hair, hes cool. After GamesCon, Fnatic lost Kebap, got Miracle and kept Freezer. How was that? What are your impressions about your team now with Freezer and Miracle? Well I'm pleased that we lost Kebap for Miracle and that Freezer happend to be a nice replacement for Aidar. Like I mentioned earlier, I think our team is incredibly strong at the moment. Tactical Questions: ________________________________ Which tactic do you love in 6.62 and the more efective? I like playing the globalstrat with spectre, its really effective, strong and it can be played both agressively and a bit more passive. Which changes IceFrog could do to make DotA a more dinamic and balanced game? I think he did a really awesome job in the new version, I especially like the buff's on some heroes like QoP, Furion and Tiny. I believe this version could be the most balanced and cool version ever, but the time will tell. Im sure someone will descover some imbaness and abuse it! At GamesCon, you guys picked Dazzle almost every game. How do you see that hero in the actual scenary? Dazzle just worked out really great for us, and why not keep picking it then? I think the hero is pretty underrated, at least in some lineups it can change a whole game with its ulti and Grave. It's also good on lane! In general, Asians used to play different than Europeans a time ago, ganking a lot, using heroes roaming that waits a long time to do a perfect gank, being underlevel sometimes. Today, with the globalization and modifications on map, they adapted to the same playstyle as Europeans, with some exceptions. How do you see Asian Dota nowadays? You played against them recently? Well, i dont watch alot of asian replays tbh, but what I recall of asian playstyle is that they farm alot and tend to "bait" alot with 1 big tank or carry. And we haven't played vs any asian teams apart from maybe MCiTY, but they're australian. What do you think about the called Vigossive, the agressive game style? haha for me it's just a joke made by Puppey in some Mymym interview. Maybe someone actually takes it serious, but I dont. what I understand with vigossive, is when someone goes suicide fountain to get a kill on an underleveled maiden or something. Brazil: ________________________________ What do you know about Brazil? And about our dota scenary? Any player? Don't know much about the brazilian dota scene really, I saw some guy posting on a Gosugamer replay, that MrFrango is the best player in the world! But overall I think brazilians are cool guys and often very kind. What do you, europeans, think about brasilians in dota? Are we really known as BadManner there? I think it's different from person to person about how much they know about brazilian dota, But I don't think you are known as being unmannered. :D Brazilian Women? ;DDD I love brazilian women. Hot! What is your relationship with him, in and out game? My relationship with Mania-. ingame: love the same kind of play Ganking:) and love just rush to fountain and kill people:) while all towers are up. out of game: we just friend having fun with pusher's mom. So another games that need Aim, like Counter-Strike, you play well too? dont play to much aim games, I like playing wow and a little Call of Duty. There are always surprises in offline tourneys, like OS|One winning DTS Cup, beating your team and Ks.Int. Did you have any knowledge about Kazakhistan dota scene? And about other countries? Do you fear any team inlan? dident know any thing about the kazakhistan scene just heard they went to trow a huge tournement to come to dts-cup. dont really fear any team on lan. How do you see Ravens! in the international scenary? The team needs something? Which tourneys you are participating or pretend to participate in this second semester? I see us fine in the scene, dont really know if we need somthing, but you can allways improve. we will try to go to all tournaments our main goal is coming to SMM malaysia. Is it a tendence to change the gamestyle? think the game style allways chance after each version Which modification is the most notable for you in 61b? Imba heroes/items? What buffs or nerfs IceFrog should make in your opinion? Pipe nerf it, else I think its fine. Have you ever played the projects based on Dota like Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends? What is your opinion about those games? Never played HON, been playing LoL atm its funny but cant see the competitive. What do you know about Brazil? dont so much a about brazil, but they have nice ladies and lots of crime and ofc football. Recently i wrote an article in the Brazilian community "DAB - Replays" about the player IMMclovin busted using MH. My friend Taborgalicious [gosugamers.net/dota/members/Taborga] translated it (thx man) and Ramones- (<3) [gosugamers.net/dota/members/Ramones-] Ramones- reviewed it. Here it is: _______________________ Everyone who participates in the Brazilian Dota Scene knows who Gabe or IMMClovin is. He was part of the team Fearz, Brazilian clan that played in the ESWC 2008 After that tourney, Gabe revealed that he used MH. The Brazilian disappointment with what seemed to be one of the biggest stars of the national scene, coming to be known internationally, was huge. Everyone mocked and bugged "poor" Gabe, his companions did not believe, nor the nation itself. Some people even said that he was a shame for brazilian dota. However, time passed and IMMClovin had his second chance. He was accepted by the community again and in several teams. However, again using MH, got caught using the program in several different accounts and trying to be the badass, said he was gonna stop playing dota. After taking the ban, realizing that he would get screwed (with the release of the list of accounts banned by garena) said this lie that he was stopping to play and would be banning all his accs, but the stupid diphead was banned in all accs FIVE DAYS after the first ban. He even used a cracked garena to pretend that he doesn't use MH anymore or some other stupid though." And soon after, trapped by the placement and evidence 'compelling' in the same forum topic, he admits the use of MH again. "hahahahaha I should not have come back here to justify myself or defend myself, I would not at all ... I uninstalled everything related to warcraft in my computer but a buddy sent me this link and told me that everyone was accusing me of using mh again. Really I TRIED TO USE AGAIN hahahahaha after I decided I was going to stop playing ... Then I started looking for maphack. I wasn't having fun playing dota and knew I was going to stop, I wanted to play my last games with mh to remember the good old times that I had fun playing at all which was using MH! Dude, that was really funny hahahahahhaha .... but who played with me in sX, in WD or any league, can see the replays on gamesphere... I took alot of ganks or lost kills that I would not lose with MH. I TRIED re-use mh first tested with the account and was banned Atomsk. In the times that I used MH, just downloading shadowfrench worked, today things are pretty hard but I decided to continue with my goal I began to search the entire Internet until I found this version of cracked garena, was banned aswell and decided to stop now. I wanted to stop but I wanted to play some games with mh for fun but faith did not allow me .. banned me before and showed me the truth that it was time for me to say goodbye to this little game ever!" Well, The summary of the story, for those who did not understand it, is that he tried to say goodbye in a good way in the forum hangar.com.br, saying that he was leaving to study and everything else but the truth is that he used MH, saw that would get busted sooner or later and left before the storm started. And that's what happened, assuming it (again) he fucked up his image (which was not prett good in the scenary), put in doubt if he used or not MH playing for his teams and kinda fucked up Brazilian Dota Scene, as he is well-know in world scene. Today im providing this interview, i think that has been very good. Here we go. ;) Personal questions: Name: Brian Strandby Age: 24 Have a job or study? I'm working in a kiosk at the moment as a summerjob, but in August Im starting my studies again. Im studying visual design. When you started playing DotA? Think i started playing Dota about 2-3 years ago, where after a while i joined Maelks clan Bto(Boomtown Odense). How did you come up with your nickname? Actually my real nick in RoC(rain of chaos) was MagNa-, but when TFT(the frozen throne) came out i wanted to make a practice acc, because i was a real statswhore :D So i created MaNia-, because it looked alot like my old nick, but then I started to get really good stats on this new account and I just kept it. I played alot tft with pusher-street back then, since we were really good friends and lived like 2 mins away from eachother, so we pretty much were allways doing stuff together. I was also hunting icons on this MaNia- account, think I still have it with like 4000-800 stats and lots of icons :) PC configs: I have a intel core 2 cpu 6320 @ 1.86GHz 1.87 Ghz with 2GB ram. I use steelseries mouse/mousepad/keyboard. Internet speed: 10mbit/1mbit Competitive Dota: In your opinion, which was the strongest line-up of ex-MYM? And the strongest line-up you participated? Its really hard to say which was the strongest lineup since we had so many good players over the years. In 48b I think our strongest team was Maelk, Merlini, Hanni, Levent and me since it was a very gank oriented version with lots of dagger use and fast nukes. About the strongest line-up ever I would say our current lineup at Ravens: Maelk Angel miGGel Pusher and me, else I wouldnt play on the team if I didnt think we were the strongest :D Asian dota is pretty different of russian and european dota, it can be seen in heroes like ShadowFiend, whom asians use it in extremely agressively way, ganking early game, while russians and europeans use it offensively and deffensively way. What differences you see when you play against asian players and against russians/europeans? Do you admire any asian player in particular? Who? I dont play many asian teams, but the ones we have played, I havent seen that much different play than what we play in europe, think they used to play alot different than in Europe, but since we have kinda merged in tournament and sharing replays etc, we kinda adapt to the same kinda playstyle. I havent seen that ”ganking” SF ur talking about tbh :) I dont follow much asian dota unless we are going to play them in a tournament, but sometimes this Yamateh fellow plays some great games, dont know if hes still playing :) What do you think about Slasher as a player and person? Do you think he will ever play dota again? How his departure affected ex-MYM? What about Maelk's leadership? Is he the best captain you ever played? Slahser was a really good player, he almost never died because of his good positioning in fights and his overview. It was also me that wanted to get him in MYM, where he allways played very stabile, and he got very popular because of his ingame moves and perceptive play movies. As a person he was also a good guy, he was bit quiet and serious when we were at lans, but that was because he took the game so serious. I dont think hes gonna return to Dota, I have only seen him like once since he stopped dota. Tbh it didnt affect MYM too much, since we had a big roster. Maelk is kinda the only captain ive ever played with, so of course I think hes the best captain, else I wouldnt have played with him through all these years. His strenght is his way to think outside the box in a lot of situations in the game, hes good at taking the quick decisions that occures through a game, and many times we win because of these tactical moves. What do you think about players who use Maphack? Do you think players who got caught using it, like LastHitMagic, should have a second chance? Well yea Im a big fan of second chances, else I wouldnt have started to play with Levent in MYM, since he was also maphacking back then, and then stopped before entering MYM. I hate maphackers and its sometimes very easy to spot those who uses maphack in league games when im just playing for myself, but its a lot harder to catch maphackers if they have used it in a long time, because they dont overuse it, meaning they are cautious with making too many suspicious moves. You cant stop maphackers, since there will allways be new programs they can use. Its like viruses and anti-viruses, you can try defend urself against them, but you will never get rid of them. There are always surprises in offline tourneys, like OS|One winning DTS Cup, beating your team and Ks.Int. Did you have any knowledge about Kazakhistan dota scene? And about other countries? Do you fear any team inlan? Every lan is different, since new playstyles allways get created during these lan. Tbh i havent heard anything about Os|one before i met them in Ukraine, didnt watch any of their replays. I think we would have been alot stronger if Maelk was able to go with us, since its hard playing without ur leader and drafter. I dont fear any team in lan, and with the risk of sounding cocky, I know we can beat any team. What is your relationship with Misery and Loda? Do you consider youselves any kind of rivals? I have a good relationship with both Misery and Loda, I often play with Misery at scrims and inhouse games. After I played on the same team as Loda, I also concider him a friend. Theres no extreme rivalry, but ofc they are our enemies when we meet in tournaments :) In this year we've seen clans disbanding, changing sponsors, changing line-ups, the dota scene changed a lot. In your opinion, which team is the strongest nowadays? Theres no team that is the strongest, there will allways be teams that win more than others. So theres is maybe a top 4 in euro/usa that is able to beat eachother, where the odds will be aprox 50% I think the best teams atm is Ks.int Fnatic EG Ravens, in no specific order. Which player wins the most annoying voice award? (hahaha) DENDI!!!!! Talking about the current map (6.61b) TC has been a constant ban in IDEC games. Why is that? Do you really believe it is imbalanced? TC is really imbalanced, you dont even wanna see the games hes not banned :) It might be fun to watch as spectators, but its no fun as the team thats playing against him. He got huge aoe dmg/stun/slow, hes just WTF-crazy What is your impression on the new item Khadgars Pipe of Insight? It looks like a gamebreaker item when well used, like right before a team gets initiated. Yea khadgars pipe is definitely a must have item in cws, It can also make the game more lategame oriented, since its harder to get aoe ulti combos in and dealing dmg, its really easy to use when u see a sandking ulti coming in. Do you think Hand Of Midas is useless now, since most games, in my point of view, are too short? I dont really see the use of midas anymore tbh :) Its been a long time since ive seen other heroes than wl/potm go it. Many people are just crazy about Quelling Blade these days. Tell us your views on this new item. Do you think it is a must-have on melee heroes? Well Quelling Blade is really good for melee farmers, and especially solo heroes like bloodseeker, since its really easy to lasthit. Its not a musthave if you play a melee ganker :) Any special items/heroes you would like to talk about? The new eul is cool, because you can eul urself. It can remove negative spells and also give you more time to escape. About Brazil: What do u think about South America dota scene, especially brazilian? Do u know any brazilian team or player? (if u know, what u think about that team/player?) Sorry I dont know any brazilian team or player, maybe I know them if I read the name, but I cant think of any. I can guess that because of the long distance between Europe and Brazil it makes it almost impossible for them to compete in European tournaments. What do you know about Brazil? I know Brazil is getting richer, and getting constantly evolving. I wish I could travel to Brazil sometime, I wear a brazil flag at Dota-league, when I play Sigs, because I think its the coolest flag :) I also love Brazilian soccer, especially when Ronaldo was at his best. Girls in Brazil are also hot :) On ESWC, MYM played against brazilian team Fearz. How was the contact and experience playing against them? Hmm I just saw they won vs the singapore team, which we lost to. They played really well that game and one of the guys had a divine i think :) They were some good guys. After a game been active over a couple of hours, it's not visible in the list anymore, but if you click "Started GosuBets", you'd find it there.
