![]() Some things never change. Human nature, jealousy especially never changes. I realized this long time ago, but did feel it in some people in which I trusted the most. When you glimpse back at the past and look into the future you will see only one constant thing - human's ugly and bad nature. Well KUDOS to all work done, I hope that someone will open his/her eyes. Even when you try your best - you will be put down. It all depends on what is the state of mind of the majority. The same parallel can can be done with the StarCraft 2 BETA patches. Let me assure you - I'm not biased. When I look into a game - I focus in the metagame. I watch how one will play and how a race will modify itself just like a lizard can change the shape of its tail after being cut off. Currently we've seen the nerfing of Protoss, a proud race that has its foundations in the "Way of Khala". Lore aside, and looking from a gaming perspective - Mothership and Gateway have been nerfed and Protoss by now is torn apart and has become weaker than ever before. As the new patch came - old strategies faded and new arose. From my standpoint - Void Ray rush versus any good terran is a no-no - they will only massfix their Command Center and punish you for you that investment which has been proved to be bad in this matchup. Versus the zerg Swarm, it works fairly well as well as against your fellow Protoss'. With gateway now taking longer to build, two gate rushes and pressure builds that worked early in the game are not so strong anymore. It feels that right now you must change your build order in order for everything to fits in its place. ![]() I am sure Blizzard will not run from StarCraft 2 as I didn't run from all the bad things happening in my life. For sure, Blizzard will go through all imbalances that the game, by its nature has, but I'm sure they will do their best to prevail. Currently, I don't feel too much imbalance like I felt it back in 1998 when I first tried out StarCraft. Injustice. You feel it almost everyday. I am sure that many StarCraft 2 players feel that their race is currently being treated so. Is that true? If your mind and thought is telling you: what is our perception of "injustice"? - is what the heart saying turning it in only a product of an emotion? Is it because we lived through rough lives that made our minds produce different statements while the situation is quite different? How does this reflect in StarCraft 2? Well, Blizzard had his lesson with StarCraft 1. A positive one actually. They should, by now - know how to make a great, enjoyable and fantastic eSports game that will rule the scene for many years to come. Did I learn enough of a lesson to trust only people that are indeed worth of such? ![]() Per aspera ad astra, there is no easy way to success. Blizzard knows this. Everything must be tested in order to work in the future. Walking on the tiny line of imbalance, balance - good game, bad game. The experience will make the difference. Will the same be with StarCraft 2 and patches made for it? Will Blizzard patch the game like they will never patch it again? Will they make it enjoyable like we will never play it again? We can never be sure - only thing that is sure is that you will fall in life, get back and fall again until you are dead. ![]() Current patch is the one that shapes the game. Shapes its future, stored for us and is only the beggining of a big journey, similar to one we've gone through with StarCraft 1. Patches will be part of us and we will be part of a game, while a game is part patches and part gamers. Magical triangle that never ends. For me, at the moment - Mothership lost a lot. High Templar got the feedback ability and it feels right. Zerg can expand easier and it turns it into a more Brood War-ish feel to be experienced in games. Terrans, the human race, have yet to find themselves. Even their nature and gameplay still exists in a form of a traitor who can't make a build that is right. Or even if he makes it - it will fail on him and be betrayed by it. I especially love the Thors. They seem to have "balanced" affixed to them. SCV's don't feel overpowered over the other race's workers. Buildings in my eyes started to take shape and I can recognize them. Hatchery, Lair or Hive - it's such a big difference, but sometimes it's hard to tell them apart by the looks. Imbalance or my perception? You decide? Patching? You decide. The majority decides, vox populi. It seems that with the rise of every new patch we get two sorts of people: those who approve it and those who don't. Changes. They are part of the game - who is of enough caliber to adopt and adapt themselves to change? Zerg's seems to have an easier time to fast expand. Banshees in Terran's arsenal rocks. They seem unbalanced. Is it the perception of a man who is fogged by his life experiences and doesn't think straight? Majority rules again. If majority thinks that my asseveration is valid - it will go through, regardless if you are, one of those snakes that makes our, and lives of others miserable and cook up lie after lie - it will make a difference in the end. We come back at a very important crossroad of everything that surround us, trust. Who can we trust? Can Blizzard trust us, the BETA testers and make crucial decisions based on our information? ![]() Breakthrough via the patches. Do you feel that they should maybe consider patching the Roaches, Mutalisks, Marauders or maybe the immortal? I don't think so, and the sole reason is that Blizzard wants us to overcome obstacles. Just like they wanted once in Starcraft 1 and we did it and had fun while doing so. Currently, I feel Blizzard is trying to feel us out, us, their customers. How do we feel about this change? How will it affect others if we decide it's good - as the majority? Infestors got a boost. I didn't have problems with them. Underused? Why boosting it? Maybe to make them more useful, ergo, usefulness will increase and so will their use. ![]() In the end, it doesn't matter if you work like you don't need money, dance like nobody is watching or play StarCraft like you are the OSL/MSL champion. In the end your life will be the product of the will of another person, another who can be good or bad, can be a double-edged sword or bread that tastes good every time you eat it. But StarCraft, in its original form is not dead and will never will be, in our mind it still exists as the brightest star, pinnacle of our gaming lifes, only to assure that his successor, StarCraft 2 will have enough dignity to live up to its glory. | Back when StarCraft 1 was in its golden days and Savior was winning MSL and OSL titles back and forth - a once glorious race started to tremble. From Grrrr to GARIMTO to Nal_Ra way to Reach himself - Protoss race started to fall apart. 3 Hatchery mutalisk and after that 5 Hatch Hydra just demolished proud sons of Aiur while noone seemed to find any clue how to counter Zergs and Terrans (who also made some pretty nasty stuff to Protoss back in the days). Then came Bisu and showed that indeed Protoss was buried way to shallow. But my point in this blog is not about Bisu, Reach or Nal_Ra - it's about the destiny of Protoss in StarCraft 2. With the nerfing of Protoss' units like Mothership and making our gateways build slower - the world of Shakuras can be in danger same as Aiur once was. ![]() It seems like in first days of StarCraft 2 BETA Protoss were handling themselves very well. Race was not weak, it had potential and it mustered up their wins pretty much by deserving it no thanks to imbalanced factors (tsk. tsk. roaches...akhm... khm.). Same thing happened in StarCraft 1 while we opened 2 gates - tech to High Templar to safely expand. We needed a hero. This time you may think it's Bisu with his revolutionary Bisu build or so called "Bisuit" but the strength in Protoss lies in their desire to fight and save their race from becoming extinct. Prime example here was Park Jung Suk - Reach. Also known as Mudang Protoss, Mullyang Protoss or simply ManToss - Reach even defeated monster Terrans like Iloveoov and Emperor Boxer himself. He had hard time with Zergs, but his Psyonic Storms ripped them apart like knife trough butter. ![]() Without Reach and likes of him that truly made difference in the world of StarCraft - Protoss race would fade just like the saddest story never told. Problem we are having today is a question for itself - is a Protoss in a need of a Hero? Can we overcome racial "imbalance" with some perspective player that will be named Hero of all Protosses? Back in the days where Executors were falling left and right and noone could find a solution to bring Protoss back to it's feet - only innovative survived and replenished life of the First race. At the moment, Zergs and Terrans in StarCraft 2 BETA have somewhat of standard opening for themselves while Protosses are shooting in dark, not knowing if they should 9 Pylon or 8 Pylon. 12 gate or 14 gate? When do we gas? Is 16 Nexus 16 double Gateway viable for sons of Aiur? We are in need of a Hero. Who will guide us and get us on the right track. ![]() The One who will bring us standard and peace. The One who will bring us even chance to fight. Who will it be? Will it be bringer of the templar wrath from Europe? USA? Will the innovator and big Protoss hope hail from South Korea? What is the destiny of a Protoss player in StarCraft 2? These are all questions that will must be answered by the One. ![]() Just being inovative and getting a Hero for us will not be enough. There is a sense of discomfort and not uniting in rows of Protoss race. Leggionares that made backbone of a once glorious Roman army had many positions in which they could defeat opponent that was three times bigger then him. We need to turtle up, become united and work our way together, Khala guides us. Queens, Marauders, Roaches and even Banshees...all set their eyes on some Protoss meat but little do they know that once fallen Protoss' warriors will be resurrected to once more fight for their race and die in battle. This kind of mentality is what we need in the One, one who will bring us standard, victory and joy. ![]() If the Protosses themselves can't get their act together then all is in vain. More then anything we need a hope. Hope in the One who will get us trough this rough time just like likes of Reach, Nal_Ra, GARIMTO, Grrr and Bisu did. Even smaller contributors to our race, pride and glory like Free, Stork, Rock, Movie and Violet - it's all just small piece of wheel that makes our race what it is. ![]() With Nony taking the TSL 2 Protoss race finishes gloriously in, maybe dusk of StarCraft 1. While we are being nerfed in StarCraft 2, I'm sure that someone will come and guide us until we get our strength that was indeed once shattered but acquired back fast and stronger before.

| Welcome to one special blog that is made to deviate from my other blogs about StarCraft 2 BETA. This time we have - I hate the fact series. It's meant to be a quickie, so let's have some fun and enjoy I hate the fact that SCV's get "absorbed" in the building they are building so I can't harass them properly with my scout probe. I hate the fact that when my units are not in "Hold position" and other unit (friendly one) can go trough them and just pushes them. I hate the fact that Roach rush off one base is very imbalanced. Even if you scout it and prepare for it Zergs switches so fast that your head will spin around. Nerf them. Nerf them. I hate the fact that Zerg can switch so fast without any consequences. If their Roach rush fail to my so hard mustered Immortal, they can easy get some Mutalisk to counter and if that fails just transition into Zergling for cheap price and get my Stalkers out of the battlefield back to the Shakuras. I hate the fact that mass Mutalisk is nearly impossible to hold. I tryed everything, from slow and slow attacking Archon that just can't kill more then three mutas by himself, Phoenix that suck against Mutalisk and Stalkers that need to outnumber Mutalisk by three times to be effective against them. I hate the fact like everyone who I meet to play is playing Zerg and going the same strategy. I hate the fact there is no channels on Battle.Net 2.0 I hate the fact I can't watch replays with my girlfriend or friends that are online. I hate the fact that because I'm on "Euro server" can only play people who are on that server (mostly Europeans) I hate the fact that sound effects are not good like in StarCraft 1. Zerg dieing should be somewhat glorious sound of bones and wings breaking. Protoss souls should have more "spirit"(oh irony) in it when going to their resting place on Shakuras. Terrans should squeak more like people often do (humans that is). I hate the fact that Terran music is not good as last one. I won't comment on Protoss one - no pride in it. Protoss is pride race. Protoss power. I hate the fact Queen is overpowered. She can attack air and ground, you can have more then one of them, she can heal units so fast and plenty and also can spawn 4 larvas on the Hatchery. I hate the fact Protoss doesen't use one of most prideful units in Protoss arsenal - Dark Templar (So be it, from shadows we come and etc.). I hate the fact I don't have Valkyrie anymore (Don't keep me waiting). I hate the fact that Reavers are gone. I hate the fact "P" doesn't stand for Probe or Pylon anymore. I hate the fact that there is autosurround. I hate the fact that StarCraft 2 BETA has already been hacked. Please note that I really want this to have a bit comedic effect but many things in it are in fact - a fact and true. Don't take it too too much serious (like "Protoss power" and etc.)

| I would like to take notice more about gameplay aspect of StarCraft 2 BETA and about some of mine discoveries. So here we go: Did you know we already discovered little nifty tricks that can make us win the game instantly? You know Scrap Station map right? Well, use observer - get vision of upper island that is in between yours base and your opponents base and voila - you can Blink with Stalkers on that island and into the opponents base. I am sure many of these tricks will come pretty handy and will be discovered as Blizzard's games always have been kind of games that you could really explore to the tiny little bits. Ii had an another discovery. You like to watch StarCraft 2 BETA replays? You don't need to run StarCraft 2 BETA everytime and then load the replay. Just drag and drop they replay on StarCraft 2 BETA icon on your desktop and you are good to go. Roaches are getting quite ridicule as it's very hard to stop one base Roach rush. Bassically I hold them with Zealots and Senetry, maybe upgrading to SpeedZealots and hoping that I can tech to Immortals and in same time live trough an attack. I have so much more sucess agianst Marine/Marauder combo. Often I use 70% SpeedZealots that rip trough Marauders and 30% Stalkers to clean up the rest. Mutalisk seems also very annoying unit because Zergs can show you one base with Roach Den moprhing and when your scout is killed - they just switch to Spire so fast you get unprepared. Their tech switch will either make you prepare for Roaches, ergo, spending a lot of money on SpeedZealots, upgrade for them and getting expensive Immortals. If Roaches come - it's OK. You can defeat that army and expand - but if they have a little bit experience they will be two head step of you and just show you 2-3 Roaches while going hard Mutalisk attack. You will have nothing and you will be destroyed. If you try to make some Stalkers they will easy snipe them, Stalkers become effective when you have more then five of them. Fast expand is viable but it's also very hard to hold of Zerg Roach rushes because if they time it right you will have 2 cannons max with 2-3 Zealots max - more of this is just making FE too expensive and not so effective. In any case you lose in both ways - if they attack they can kill you because of lack of defense. If you overdefense - they just expand twice and you spent too much to make counterattack army and that means, most of the time - lose. That's for this time folks, hear from you soon.

| ![]() In this iteration of blog we have little nifty thing going on right beside number six. It's MG. What is it about? Read on. Well, MG stands for "Mind Games" and really, there was a bit polemics and questions about this segment of StarCraft 2. In more then 200 games played only with Protoss I can say with sure that this thing is still in the game and you can expect to battle your opponent not just on battlefield but also in the other one - via your minds. What I'm talking about has two factors: fear and knowing your enemy. ![]() 1st one is when you play so much games and get for example, so many times harassed by Reapers that jump over a cliff and kill off all of your workers - that my friends makes powerful mindgame. From that moment on you will look into fog of war and battle mind game with it on your own, checking if something will pop up from it and will your opponent have ridiculous amount of harassing units that he massed while you were indeed trying to battle his mind with yours. It is such a satisfying feeling to have this factor back in the game and also knowing your opponent is now so much important then ever before. If you ask why, well - there are so much more openers and builds for StarCraft 2 making it so harder to predict what will opponent do and knowing him for sure helps greatly. That makes another mindgame that will be played out trough whole game but mostly in first few minutes when builds are scouted. When you try to guess various openings opponent can do it's so exciting to counter it. I would be sure and state that - it's more fun then StarCraft 1 in this field. It's all about the thing you have so many options that can eliminate other options made by other players. Counters can be only hard - I didn't notice any "softy" counters yet but as I said - the game is so versatile there can be maybe 1000 combination of various units you can use in specific way, number and timing that it can become so called "soft counter". ![]() But what this gets for an ordinary StarCraft gamer? Well it gets him really big picture. And by that I mean: Options + 1000 of more to come counters (soft or hard) + mindgame with the game itself + mindgame with your opponents = great game in field of so called "inner self gameplay" - a warfare that is exclusively played out by yourself in your head with stimulation of a game. Spells are too so much versaitile that can make your head spin in sum of all options. It really makes the game very good but I would like to see some more spells a bit more powerful like in case of High Templar's Psyonic Storm that has really been nerfed down quite a bit. Also I can't see Queens Larva Spawn ability to make sense to me early game because it can boost Zerg's economy so hard that in a hands of really powerful gamer it can make digression between the levels. By that I mean if you have two equally strong players - the one who is playing the Zerg and using like Spawn Larva + Roach tactic is definitely going to win. I predict that gamer must be at least 40% better then his Zerg opponent doing this strategy to make an even battle. It isn't necessary to nerf spell itself or unit - it's enough to make proper counters for it better, easier to get and stronger. In any case, even if sounds of units, some animation and other things in my last blogs did prove to be somewhat of flaw (but this is BETA and that's why are we here to prove a point to Blizzard and help them out in making this game a perfection in any sense of word) - mindgames and mind warfare's are still there. Please, keep asking questions that deviate from mechanical play and solo playing the game on computer - be free to ask anything related on psychological level that is indeed part of every competitive game.
