Late, late,late
Created 25th January 2007 22:30

I arrived to the event area a bit later than I had hoped. I thought the trip from Dusseldorf Weeze to Cologne would take a bit less than an hour. But it took two and a half. Then there were some trouble with the youth hostel (they thought I was a girl, and they have a policy that the opposite sex can't share room), I managed to get a double room instead of an 8-man room.

Everything looks great, the installment and everything is so professional. The press areas are nice, I'm sitting here next to all the other hotstots. Currently installing a 30-day-trial Photoshop.

I gotta go soon though, the trams and subways doen't run for that long. I'll give you a super coverage tomorrow, where I'm hopefully on spot at 11:00.

:D

Tomorrow I fly!
Created 24th January 2007 23:53

Tomorrow I'm headed to Germany to do coverage for the biggest offline WarCraft 3 events so far this year - the WC3L offline finals and the Battle.Net Season 4 Finals. The last big WarCraft 3 event I was at in another country was World Cyber Games 2006. I had a blast there, and I'm hoping to haved as fun in the upcoming weekend.

I am travelling alone and will be the only one from GosuGamers to do coverage on spot. I can't say I'm not nervous, because well... I am. Not overnervous, but still. But once I get to Cologne I should be all set. I'm going to stay at a youth hostel pretty near the central station, called Cologne-Deutz. It's not too far away from the event area either, only two stations. Let's hope I'll be able to sleep in there. If not there'll be two Insomnia at the event - where one is a half-assed Swedish StarCraft player and the other a WarCraft 3 legend.

I'm looking forward to meet GLaiVe, Creolophus, FuRy and those other guys again. Army as well, one of the MeetYourMakers managers, a guy I've been getting to know quite a lot. A shame Ciara didn't qualify. I guess he's too busy trying to win versus the Danish National team members in StarCraft than playing WarCraft these days.

The weather sucks in Europe, especially in Sweden and in Germany. Last night they actually stopped some of the planes from taking off at the airport I'm going to fly from. Apparently it wasn't becuase of the bad weather, "a technical problem". Well whoop-de-dooh, not only do I have to worry about the weather, but also technical problems?

I'll probably be a bit late to attend the opening ceremony and the first ladder matches. I land at 15:45, and the event starts at 14:00 with the opening ceremony. After I land I'll have to first go to Cologne from Düsseldorf, and then to the youth hostel and then finally to the event area. I'd say I arrive around... 18-ish?

Apart from the regular coverage I will try to give each day give you my thoughts and insights on stuff in this blog.

Wish me good luck!

WECHSELKARUSELL!
Created 6th January 2007 00:04

SK kicks three of their Swedish Counter-Strike stars and are soon supposed to announce that they pick up three players from Ninjas in Pyjamas. fnatic is said to go through some changes as well. When tentpole left rumours have been bubbling that former Ninjas in Pyjamas player ins will join up.

WarCraft 3. Sweet and Zacard leaves the squad and four German players from SK-Germany steps in. fourvisions moves to redCode, while four players from Team Don replaces the missing players in fourvisions. European Fight Club adds two. The Bulgarian clan Go 2 Hell joins up with Revoltados Esport.

Much has happened already in 2007. And I'm sure of that we will see more in the upcoming days. WECHSELKARUSELL, as the Germans would like to call it is a fitting name.

Match mot Tyskland imorrn
Created 5th January 2007 21:55

Rematch against France
Created 2nd January 2007 02:50 (Updated: 2nd January 2007 02:53)

Last time they won against us in the Civil War Event. MySt took down DeWa, SarenS defeated TreK, BunDy defeated ZpuX. FrozenArbiter defeated SoW amd KaaZ won against TuZeR. However now I feel that we are the favourites.

Our team is strong these days. Currently ranked 9th in the GosuGamers Database and even if most of our players aren't that superlatively active we can still compete with the best. I think the results talk, a convincing win against Poland, ending in a tie against Germany and wins over Norway and Finland.

I'm hoping for a great game on Wednesday. Come cheer for us.
