In an hour and a half, I'm on the train to WonderBase in Borås, Åhaga. Going to meet Vilda, brankan, Nesseman and silas once again. Will be nice. Hoping for a lot of top-notch players coming to attend the KODE5 Swedish qualifier, but after what I've heard there aren't too many pro players attending. Konna, Naniwa, FuRy and LiiLD.C are the ones that I know are coming (or are planning to come). *** fnatic signs with DieSeL. Interesting! *** MeetYourMakers wrote a news yesterday about NWRS, that Frozen, Quai and TITAN would join up with the New Russian team (pun intended). However the news was removed, and was later republished but without the Titan name. I caught up with Heart, the manager of NWRS, and he said that Titan actually might join up later - but not now. Something wrong between Mousesports and TitaN, perhaps? *** I miss the NGL-ONE finals and the ENC finals. :( *** wNv-Gaming has signed Microsoft as their sponsor now. Coca-Cola and Microsoft - sheesh! What a bunch of nerds! --vv Nah, just kidding. Sounds really great, two worldwide dominating companies is always good to have on your side. Though I wonder if they get sponsored money, or just a sixpack of Coke and some free Windows Vista CDs. *** Samwise Didier must be the coolest guy working on Blizzard. With fnatic having dropped NaNiwa from their team, they are in despereate need of an Undead player. They have two Orc players, Rotterdam and Rob, and one Human (XyLigan) and the Night Elf player Satiini. Having a four-man lineup won't cut it, especially not since one has a condition which stops him from travelling, and two Russians with visa issues. Rotti vs. the world! But, should they all four show up at say a WC3L offline final, they would be a fantastic four, with XyLigan being hotter than ever winning both WCG Russia and ASUS Summer Cup, Rotterdam gaining more motivation in China. Satiini owned it up in the online part of ENC. With ieS Virtual Gaming doing a "wechsellkarusell", a number of good players are available for fnatic to pick up. How about the experienced Undead player Giacomo? Previously a Mousesports player, but left after not taking his gaming that serious. I believe he would fit in to the fnatic team fairly well, and with enough practice and more motivation he can definitely become the stellar Undead player fnatic now lacks. *** rakaka.se reported that the Swedish manager triMble is most likely leaving the Swedish National team. He said that he had decided to stop even before this ENC season, but after the conflicts currently going on in the team with economical disputes and internal conflicts, I'm sure he didn't regret his earlier made decision. *** Very impressive by Finland to defeat Sweden, not once, but twice, in the European Nations Cup. Truly a stellar performance by all of the Finnish players. I guess Sein, Bringer, Konna and elfittala are all hot names on the market right now. Maybe re-add elfittaja to fnatic? Or maybe some of his countrymen? *** I must still say that it was really cool by 4Kings to fly down Creolophus to Games Convention after their two first matches. Too bad it didn't help. We soon have a champion. The Swedish WarCraft champion. All the play-- sorry, ElakeDuck and Naniwa failed to show up - and the winner will be the one representing the Swedish flag in Seattle, USA. Top favorite should be SaSe, Chinese superman and Night Elf visualist. Though will the Night Elf mirror matches be a skeleton in the closet for SaSe? LiiLD.C and GLaiVe are known for having good mirror skills, but will they be enough? SaSe has proved that he is no man to tamper with. He was very close in winning versus the newcomer DowaQ with Orc, and when he played KnOfF and FuRy he showed that all these months in China together with ToD and the rest. Will this be the first time SaSe will play World Cyber Games? It remains to be seen. I'm very much impressed by DowaQ, showing a great, daring and innovative play especially in the Undead mirror match versus FuRy. It is already a sensation that he advanced from the group of death with KnOfF, SaSe and FuRy - but I believe that LiiLD.C will be the man to stop the Excello player. All in all, the games have been very entertaining, and many of the players are talkative and we have a good time. | |||||||||||||||||||
