Just the other day I took a glance on the gg.net forums and noticed a thread there "underrated players", this theme really got me going, I dunno why but I, somehow, have the ability to distinguish the overrated from the underrated really well and I've got some thoughts of mine to share with you all. Let's start with the overrated. Overrated player - a player who's skill is considered to be higher then it really is. By what factors is it influated ? First and probably the biggest factor : The team that player represents. How many times has a player been favorited just becouse he is a member of some pro or semi-pro team ? I think hundreds, furthermore a lot of "GOSU" teams choose players based on their achievements in that time, afterwards it's 80% downhill. Some examples maybe? ToT)Squall( - He is only feared for his knowledge of the game, he has some tricks up his sleeve that some players have never seen, that's what wins him some important games. mYm.Arew even though you are my country-man, a former clan-mate and basically my pupil I still think that you were a little to young to do your jump to ToT and then to mYm. you just cant take the pressure of important games yet. Thats why you are usually overrated, but in a few years time you will be the top 5 protoss in europe. Next would be Dinot, after his performance in the TSL getting to RO8 he became such a star...He is not that good, I considered him being underrated not so long ago, but now after I saw the games vs iefnaj, I KNOW JF IS A MONSTER, but maan if u got to top16 atleast be able to put up a fight, which I did not see. Well your still young you will be the future. Oh, almost forgot, you'll probablly be saying "HE BEAT IDRA 2:0"... wow beating the most overrated US player ever is so great o.o I'm not even talking about him, I don't expect nothing from him... It's the underrated time. Underrated player - a player who has a lot more skill than in appears at first. Underration is also dependant on the team you represent examples you may ask? Horror.T-ScT - Yeah he is a cheeser, and yeah he is a member of a not so known team, but maan did he beat the shit out of some "GOSU" players. Oh before calling him a cheeser think about how mistrzzz started ? o.O he was the king of cheese. Next I'd like to mention RoX.Brat_OK , well rox. isn't a nonamed team they have a2 androide, infamous localhost he's out now I think. Well he was a nonamed persona for the world, tho we eastern europeans, atleast the ones who know shit about BW knew him really well, and when he was to face dreiven in the RO8 my thoughts were "Well Dreiven, did a good job beating mondie, but it ends here" Brat was a machine in 2006 and he is now, no Russian terran has to be underrated!. I'd like to mention my clan mate as well don't think I'm doing this for fame he is really worth it! T.Sqd)Kr - why is he underrated ? Just becouse he wasn't running after the fame and glory ? Yeah he did join xLo. when bartar was running the show, but he came back and when asked how was it, his answer was "Thats not a team"<3.He has reached A rank several times in both PGT and ICC. I have loads of respect for player who choose friend over glory and fame in the E-sports, I respect players who give their best in a team of friends no matter what the results are. Fame and glory will get you nowhere. PEOPLE IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS PLAY WITH THEM AND DONT RUN AFTER SOME FAKE IDEOLOGIES. This is not Korea have fun whilst playing ^_^.
