WCG Brazil 2005

[s]event_wcg[/s]

Finally, after two days of intense and sweaty games, WCG Brazil has now the two players which will head on to the grand finals in Singapore. HellGhost darkest hour. There will be no PentaCampeon this time.

This year showed to be one of the most exciting events ever seen since the first edition of WCG in Brazil. Even though it was pretty obvious that the spots would most probably go to one of the four favorites as our previous » news, nobody would imagine how it would turn to be by the end.

Day 1

Day 1 started with the » bracketsas shown in our previous news. Not much to say here, the favorites have passed through their opponents even though some have had some hard times i.e. HellGhost who won 2-1 in first match. The only upset was that LG)Kelsen did not play this day, so his opponents obtained a free win over him.

The winner brackets ended up like this after day 1:

Brazil HellGhost[TmG] vs Brazil Odin[SomE]
Brazil Master[SomE] vs Brazil raZz.ReasoN

Day 2

Day 2 showed itself the best day ever seen at a WCG Brazil event, at least for Starcraft. The most exciting games were played today, and after BrazilMaster beating Brazil ReasoN on the Winners bracket and Brazil Odin crushing though Brazil HellGhost 2-1, the battle for the Asia turned to be in the Loser's bracket, so the real excitement started.

The very first spot to Singapore was decided in the winners finals, and Brazil Odin[SomE] was able to defeat his clan mate Master and got his first trip to the grand finals, and in doing so he sent Master to the middle of the crossfire. So the excitement just became even hotter!

So let's get to it! First, after some very hot games, Brazil Reason managed to beat Brazil HellGhost 2-1 in the most anticipated battle of this WCG, afterwards he was also able to beat Brazil Master who came from Winners Bracket (getting his revenge), giving him the right to play for the 1st place tomorrow, and also assuring him, together with Odin, a ticket to the e-sport Mecca in October.

So, the two players who are traveling to Asia are:

Brazil Odin[SomE]
Brazil raZz.ReasoN

Tomorrow we will know the final classification, after day 3 is over. Despite of that, Brazil will surely be very well represented by those 2 very skilled players. GG.net wishes both the best of luck in WCG grand finals!!
