The WCG National Qualifiers are close to ending, and so far we have 32 qualified players going to Cologne to fight it out for the gold medal. With Stork, last year's winner, qualified for this year's tournament, will he once again win the title, or will he fall to another?

Zerg and Protoss are dominating this year. Not only are there no Korean terran players, but there are only half as many Terrans as Zerg or Protoss, making it very unlikely that a Terran will win this year. Even besides that, the Terran roster simply does not match up this year, even though they do have some good players.

As such, this year's WCG winner will most likely be a Zerg or Protoss - as far as the Korean team goes, we have JaeDong and Luxury for Zerg, and Stork for Protoss. Being last year's winner, Stork is likely to do very well this year also, though JaeDong's continually good performance is likely to show as well. Luxury has certainly been doing better recently, and as such there is, as usual, no weakness in this year's Korean lineup.

Once again, the Germans have brought Mondragon to the battlefield, along with HoRRoR and Jogy. Having come third last year after beating sAviOr, Mondragon is certainly worth keeping an eye on this year. China brings some surprises; last year's finalist, Pj, is not participating. However, monster toss Lx is there for them, as well as ChinaTTTT and LoveTT.

The templar swarm

Four of the Templars of Twilight have qualified for WCG this year; all of them Zergs, though ClouD is likely to change that in the Italian WCG preliminaries, which have yet to be completed. With Mondragon coming third last year, they are well worth keeping an eye on.

The official WCG mappack is as follows:
WCG Mappack 1.3*
Blue Storm
Othello
Andromeda
Troy
*Map pool updated

It is approximately 32 days until the start of WCG in Cologne, Germany, and with the players that have qualified so far - with some qualifiers, such as the Italian and American preliminaries still to be completed, we are in for a seriously nail-biting competition.

With GosuGamers crew coverage live from the event, you can be sure that we will have you updated all through the tournament!

Wooo!

I am soooo excited about CaStrO!

Mondragon... he better mop the floor with those progamers since he is playing in homeground ;)

The Terrans havent got a hope in hell... Not sure just how good ChinaTTTT is though.

I guess we are going to get sick of ZvZ, PvP and PvZ ... in a month ;)

why they manage to get sponsors, but the others fail?! ..

also, USA is late, haha, that's like croatia last year >_<

edit: I guess they will just put open slots for USA, called "USA#1" "USA#2", etc.

Group drawing order (events):

- AS4 -> C3D -> GH3 -> AOE -> VF5 -> C&C -> HALO -> PGR -> NFS -> FIFA -> SC -> W3 -> CS

so you can wait all night long for sc

mondi didn't beat savior in group, he got owned somwhat. and if he did, we'd have heard it.

also, the text clearly states mondi beat savior to earn 3rd place, which is ... wrong.

#21 Mondi did beat Savior in the group stage. Please don't correct people if you have no clue and didn't watch WCG 2007.

ZvZ on Paranoid Androide btw, close game.

oh, i had the colors confused sorry

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k- YNUqiMxk

, nevertheless, the text says mondi came third after beating savior, which leads to the idea that he beat savior in the semifinals. intuitively, this is what most people would think. yes, no?

Are you guys sure that this is the real WCG map pack? I remember Blue Storm, Andromeda, Othello and Troy for WCG.
Does anyone have 100% definite information about that?

Aye Group H is group of Death with Stork/Draco/Lx.It really can go anyway with those 3(altho is hard to belive that Stork could get dropped in group stage)so it will proly be Stork and Draco or Lx.Altho PvP is hard to predict and with some cheese/some luck both Lx/Draco can beat Stork(especially couse it`s bo1 and evry1 know that anything can happen in bo1 series). So for summary:
Hope:
1.Draco(so he can "dodge" Jaedong in 1/8) :D
2.Lx
Realistic:
1.Stork
2.Draco/Lx(i`d say 50-50 for this spot,70-30 for Draco if he takes wcg seriously and train hard for it(altho i really doubt that :( )

castro please lose.

46 if you think its 70-30 for draco youre retarded im sorry. stop being a fanboy realistically its like 60-40 for legend > draco
