Nice job Flag. This method really can prove than someone was not using this kind of maphack, and provided enough replays, to know that someone hack. It was the last one i knew to find out, i never released it because :
1 - Cheaters invent excuses even when using check that gives a 100% proof, so accusing with statistical methods was not a fight i was ready to pick.
2 - Unfortunately cheat makers tend to do whatever they can to ruin the game play more, and making their cheat "undetectable" seems to be "cool" or "fun" for them. (especially when there is that much big coverage with this kind of article). Don't be too much confident when you want to say "this method will help us in the future"
3 - There's a 3, but i will only discuss it with Flag or with the author of this article. I don't know if it's still valid with those new hacks.

Back in the old days, i made a secret command to count "enemy selects" in penguinplug for each players directly from watching replays. It was *much more* accurate to count them in game than in BWchart because BW chart unit owner is a guess job so it will only show 20% of real enemy selects. After looking to a guy that has 0 enemy selects in 2 or 3 replays in a row, i was starting to look more and more until i could find a "targeting an out of vision unit" proof, but then cheat makers changed that 2nd behavior to be changed in an attack move and "getting a proof" was impossible.

Enjoy it while it lasts...

PS: I have lost any hopes in blizzard actually give this "cheat-free environment" they promised years ago in SC, and i suggest a "boycott SC2" campaign if their game design is so weak when faced with cheaters... I still get many email from people who ask me to "invent anti-cheats" but the truth is it's the game editor job to design the game correctly. When i understood i was doing what should have been blizzard job, i resigned from SC programming.

It wont surprise me if more american and canadian top players got caught. I think probably 50% of them are hackers.

Strelok is clean. The guys at tl found his replay with 0 selects but it was in a group of several hundred similar replays with selects. It's the 1% margin of error they were talking about in a given game. Whereas all these people have got 0 over and over in consequtive games. That's why Strelok wasn't even accused in the article while the others were found guilty.

Zarrr (ger-a), Milosh (ger-b), localhost (rus-a), TT1 (can-a), Xzoz (nor-a).... really hard. x_X
