Ehm... one or two foreign broadcasts a year?
I don't know what you are talking about, but I'm watching 3-4 broadcasts A WEEK. x___X Obviously Manifesto has no clue of what he's talking about.
Speaking only of German videostreams, EACH WEEK there are:
- Gamestar League by Game-TV (every monday, sometimes also on thursday)
- MYM KOTH by ESL TV (every monday)
- Hauppauge Cup by gamesports (every sunday)
Videostreams in other languages:
- WGT Lords of War by PG24 (every wednesday)
- Arena-TV Showmatches (not sure which day, I think every thursday)
And then there are of course non-regular streams about showmatches, nation wars or tournaments (often by WarNix of Game-TV). All of those streams go several hours.
Not to mention all the new Tasteless Korean streams (at the moment Intel Classics every weekend) by GOM-TV and your own TL.net Attack.
So pls inform yourself first before saying such a thing. oO
There are almost more video streams (not to mention audio casts) than you can watch. :X

mani ur mean rofl...

#17 Games that matters for you...
what matters is a question of you personal point
of view
Well, I would say that Gamestar League matches
with a prize pool of almost 9000 euros matter.
Most of these matches are by the way streamed with
English commentary. ;)
If you wanna watch... tomorrow (monday) @ 18:00 EST @ http://www.game-tv.com/stream< br />
But ok, let's stop this.
Gogo TSL! I'm looking forward to your streams. :D

I think mani refers to games that matter to the
foreign scene as a whole, and matters in more than
just entertainment scope. You will notice that he
does not include things like Liquibition and
TL.net Attack in this list, even though they are
also TL projects, because these projects serve an
entertainment purpose rather than a purpose of
serving the foreign community.
You'll also notice that he does say that we have one or two such tournaments a year (before TSL that is), so things like the Gamestar League are not necessarily excluded. I think the Gamestar League, along with the TSL, are two of the most important tournaments for the foreign scene.
My only problem with the Gamestar league, in terms of it's help in growing the community, is that although it gives the community an incentive to watch, it does not give them an incentive to play due to the invitation system, which means only the well known players are given a chance.
The TSL is trying to help the community by not only making it fun to watch foreign sc, but also fun to play it, as it gives everyone a chance. This is not to say that the TSL is necessarily better than the Gamestar, it just serves a different purpose, and I think it is this purpose Mani was referring to when he said "games that matter".

I dont know why mani had to be so bm there.. Would
have been better to bring up the fact that most of
those streams, although their good, dont work well
over in north america.
German commentary makes me cry :( I wish i could
disable the German but keep the unit sounds :D
(No offense Germans)
oh and, on topic, looking forward to the final streams - it's going to rock :)
Keep up the good work TL.net
