..because it is a community site and because many asked for this function specially after mym's and other gaming siite success with blog features.

Maybe instead of asking who needs this, you could have noticed the over 50 blogs that have been started within a few weeks of its creation and thus answer your own question.
Maybe you will also realize the part of the advantage of creating a blog within a community is that you already can share a huge amount of willing readers.. as it is you own blog has many good posts and not a single comment, and here you have a poor post and already have 2 comments..

Point is, you can scream all you want into the wind, that if no one is listening, you merely are wasting your time, might as well keep your thoughts or leave the write up in your hard drive or.. you can engage a community with a simple copy/paste.
