I just had a WCG Monza flashback! While I was adding a headline for the Mondragon and Arew article by halfnorn, my brain gave me a flashback from 2006. The World Cyber Games was then in Monza, and it was my first international eSport event.  It was on the second day at the Autodromo, and the matches had just begun. I was sitting in the press area, struggling with the strange keyboard settings, and had just sent away NastyMarine and halfnorn out to snap some photos and maybe get a hold of a player to interview. I hadn't eaten more than a chocolate croissant at Sebastian's (Shun) place for breakfast, and the day was nearing 16:00. I felt sooo hungry, and the mini cookies the press people had set out was long gone. I was so stressed, with getting the Grubby article out, and uploading the right pictures to the right album. So food was not my number one priority at that time. But then Jonatan (Mazor) put his hand on my shoulder and asked me if I had eaten anything yet. I said no, and that I would just finish this up, and then go eat. We then laughed and looked at each other saying "yeah, like that's gonna happen anytime soon". Damn WCG. |
