Preparing for WCG

Time to gear up for World Cyber Games! I have my shirts. What colors do you bring?

The opening of WCG is later today, while the matches won't start until tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to WCG this year. Aside from a few national tournaments, WCG is the only big international tournament that still has StarCraft as a list of games. Thank you for that, ICM.

We will have six people on spot, giving you guys the usual and unusual coverage from Cologne.

I don't root for anyone in particular in neither games, but it would be nice to see the Chinese StarCraft players perform their best. Even though Koreans are far ahead it would mean a lot to the Chinese scene if they could repeat the success of last year. Can Legend swipe a medal, just like Pj did last year?

I guess the non-Asian hopes lie in Mondragon, Draco, NonY and ClouD. They will be interesting to follow throughout this tournament. Is Draco in shape? Can ClouD and NonY bring their A-game like in Spirit League? Will Mondragon, homefield and all, repeat his bronze sensation from last year? Answers to these questions, and much more, when we start the coverage of the World Cyber Games 2008!

The WarCraft tournament is too hard to predict. At least ten players have the authority to end up in the Top 3. But watch out for Grubby this year, he seems like one of the strongest contenders. And TeD might be able to continue his successful late-2008 success.
