What made you stay here? (Updated: 26th September 2008 15:56)
Hello everyone!

Your little Junnie is back to her corner. It has been a long time I last saw you. I miss you guys so sooooo much.

Well, today, when surfing some SC websites, I read an interesting topic! The thread maker wanted to know why his readers were so deep in love with StarCraft and then, he left that question in his topic. What a great idea!

Long time ago, I wanted to asked you guys the same question, too. But I think I forgot it.

As I’m sure we all know that everyone has his own story about his gaming life and I’m really curious to know all of yours. I think it will be a great chance for us to know each other better so don’t be shy, just express yourself here and share us your experience.

Ok. I’m the first one.

Hmm.. I started playing games when I was a small girl, maybe 5 or 6. During my childhood, I kept playing PS1 all the time at the PS1 station near by my house. The first time I saw StarCraft, it was still as clear as yesterday.

The boy of the PS1 Station’s owner, he had few PCs in the corner of his house to let him and his friends be able to play Quake and StarCraft. As usual, after spending all of my money for PS1 Games, I stood there and watched them playing. I remember that I felt so excited when I saw them playing some games on PC at that time, and especially StarCraft. It was really interesting. How could they “have” their unit with the keyboard? At that time, for me, the keyboard was such a wonderful thing on earth.

One day, when he was not at home, I begged his mother to let me play and she agreed. I think I will never forget that day when I was stuck at the menu of StarCraft.

“How could he play such a boring game like that? Aww, it sucks. What a complicated game. I would better back to my fighting games, I think so” – something crossed my mind.

I quickly left the game and never touched PC later.

Everything changed when I first came to PC Station where I used to hate because it was always noisy. My first game on PC, however, it was not StarCraft but Counter Strike. Some special feelings when I “headshot-ed” somebody were incredible. I had never got that feelings so far and then, I started loving PC games. They were much more interesting than PS1: more competitive, more players and more friends.

Having played CS days after days, with tempting invitation of friends, I tried StarCraft once again. They showed me how to play and then, I won my first game against my opponent “who” was computer. The feeling when you win something was always good so I started playing not only CS but also SC. Time passed by, I did not know when Games became a part of my life. I am a competitive girl meanwhile Games or eSports is always full of competitions so it is simple to know why I am here today.

It has been a long time since my first StarCraft games and now, I’m really glad that I’m still here talking to you about myself, my little story.

Do you know the biggest reason why made me decide to stay in SC scene?

Nal_rA is my hero. The one who showed me where I belong is great one. Now, I think, without that highlight, I would not be sitting here. Although it was poor quality, it had great power to whisper me: “Hey girl, welcome to my world!”.

I had never ever got that feeling. It was not special but indescribable. Headshot? Winning my SC matches? Those feelings made non sense to me in comparison with Nal_rA’s highlight. My head was full of Nal_rA’s images afterward. Now, I still do not know how to express it even it has passed for 4 years

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything!

Yes, I have a dream. I have ONE BIG DREAM !
I want to help eSports to develop bigger and bigger everywhere on this planet, not only in SC: BW but also in the other eSports Games such as Counter Strike, PES, Fifa, etc… I want to see people can value the exact meaning of eSports in our daily life. eSport is not just a game but a gift from heaven. It is a huge business where people can challenge their mind, their hands, their hidden skills.

Even though I am still a high school girl now, I have told myself many times that I have to do my best in school and then, I will be able to fly to everywhere, to “spread” the eSports “theory” to everyone I meet. I know I can do it so I will see you . In a near future, I will be there!

Woops. I made a long post. Ok. Now is the time for you to tell me your story. I'll see you there!

Hi Junnie!!Interesting blog O_O
Well, as for me...

My first computer game was played at age of 3 or2?Dunno, but I remember clearly it was Duke Nukem 3D which isn't really 3D but whatever...After that it was period which I can not clearly recall but it wasn't really PC games but real games o.o;. My another playing of computer games was at age of 6 when I've heavily started to play Age of Empires, Commandos(!!!) and Quake.

And finally at age of 7-8 I've touched and played Quake III and STARCRAFT!We hadn't any connection to the Internet (well my brother had but he was a bitch who didn't wish show me that damn thingy O_O) so I've heavily played these two games along others (mainly Commandos and Half Life). My first match was against my brother and he fucking won me. Then we played about 5 games (1v1 or 2v2) and he had to go to work :S. I've liked Starcraft much but I've played mainly Quake III cause it was "faster and real" action for me.

And I thought about little balance of sc lulz -.- I was swearing about terran's and zerg's advatage of regenartion but protoss had no regeneration so I had idea to write to Blizzard to repair this but after while I watched my units relaxing after battle (they had no shields) and after a while, they had shields?! I was like O_O and started to playing heavy toss because I thought they're some kind of "imba".

I discovered Counter-Strike 1.5 (well, again my brother) then so I've started to heavily playing it (and forgot about Starcraft) until 11 years

Later my brother had to move so the only connection to the Internet was at school and I've finally learned how to on it...So, I was still playing at home but viewed 2 sc sites (and many other which I can't clearly remember) and these was scworld.wz.cz and GOSUGAMERS.NET WHERE I HAVE HAD DLING REPLAYS! And I've viewed them and viewed them and viewed them so I knowed how to play this game. But then my computer crashed and I had no computer at all. Finally,at age of thirteen we bought a new computer and connection to Internet...And this is where my story ends...

And what decided me to stay in starcraft?It was fact it was the only game I had cd off and the only game which was installed at computer throughout ages oo;

for me my first pc game3 was about these sucky 2d graphics well its about a caveman going to the end of the stage beating the crap out of dinosaurs and huge turtles etc.

then i played a game called warwind, it came to my interest as my very first strategy game, back then there was this big enemy unit chasing me so while i was running away sometimes my unit stops At the end then attack, so i just though oh wow if i do that i could kill off a bigger one with a smaller one,

then later on starcraft:original came out
me and some friends started playing, first we played was at lost temple, and i can't forget on the fact as how i first played it, the race i played first was zerg, i have 4 drones mining, when i get mineral then i make pool then i have 3 drones left, i get gas with 1 drone left, and then i though what a hard game, i make lings well only 1 and then the computer who is terran kicked my ass like i'm just a shitless jerk in shorts

then when me and my friends meet again, we were bragging about the campaign on like what stage i am on right now, but later on after we all finished the campaign we started playing together, 4v4 3v3 2v2, then later at year 1999

we started playing 1v1, since there were 16 of us, we have a great competitive play, my friend r17 which is his nick, was bragging all day long on where non of us defeated him lol

then we kept on practicing, trying out different opening, then we were introduced to battle.net it was an amazing feeling to know that you get to play with many people at the same time, then of course we friends started playing vs one another through the internet, then we were all having big trouble about the play timing in battle net, so later on, we tried some new strategies that we've never done before, tried them out, some people were not suspecting it but there were times where i were shocked by my opponents moves also,

that is why i think that right now, some new gamers are lucky to be able to have a ready made standard opening bo, back then no such thing exist XD

well there are more but its too long gonna write it next time
