Vilda Goes - WWI Edition
So my thoughts here, were to write down my impressions of this trip, as you may know i'm going to Paris, for Blizzards World Wide Invitational. I will most likely not be able to get everything down, or write too often, but i will do my best.

Vilda Goes Paris - WWI Edition


I actually think this trip started 2 days ago when my tickets got booked and paid for. I arrived to my room in Uppsala after visiting my parents for about a week around 5pm, and that is about how long I was awake that day. Since I didn't sleep much for the last 3 days I failed to be there when they booked the flights, although I would most likely have paniced anyway, since I haven't even booked anything like it ever in my life.

Hotels being a pain in the ass


The day after that I woke up, and it hit me that I was actually going to Paris. And then it hit me that I didnt have any hair spray. And then it hit me that I didn't have anywher to sleep in Paris. Panic? I think not! After a late lunch I ended up in the GG.net office searching high and low for a cheap hotel somewhere near the Paris Expo hall where WWI will be held. (Special thanks to Simon and Nicky for helping me out.) After about 6 hours I finally gave up and ended up at home talking to some random people until I found Scott online, and he ended up being savior of the day for sure. <3

I woke up after about 3 hours of sleep (laundry until 3am was probably not the best idea I ever had...) and after a shower, packing and picking up the last clean clothes I was on my way. I regret now, though, that I didn't brought a deck of cards. I ran all the way to the bus station (usually takes around 20 minutes to walk there) and finally got there just in time to stop the bus and getting yelled at by the bus driver for running in front of the bus.

Schiphol - A World Of Wonderes


I found the airport, the gate, everything went well, and I ran into the people from Gamingeye, meaning I got some company. At least for a while. I thought it would be all the way to Paris though, but boy, was I wrong! I ended up missing my flight (apparently it departed 30 minutes earlier than the other guys) and ran to the ticket transfer desc to fix it. Looking very sad and acting like you don't understand shit usually works, it seems, and apparently it does work, because I got myself a new ticket, parting 18:45!

Toilet Spoelt Automatisch


Yes, its true! After looking through half the airport I finally found a restroom, and since I was in kind of a hurry I didn't really pay attention, until I was done and stood up. That's when the toilet started flushing, it scared the hell out of me, but then I saw the side not behind the toilet (very strategicly put, people turn their back towards it, I doubt I'm the only one ever being scared by that.) saying "Toilet Spoelt Automatisch". I guess we learn something new every day.. Today the lesson was that Dutch people are insanely lazy ;)

I also learned that they really like M&Ms, and that you can buy a 100% dutch cow (in glass) at the airport, just for 10 euros, amazing. I also figured that they have one 'liquor & tobacco" store AND a "Whiskey & Cigarrs" store, very confusing. And in 1,5 hours I'll finally get on board on the flight to Paris. Hurray!

WWI Here I Come


Yes, I think that is all for now, I've already spent 15 euros on this lousy internet, it's time to move on. See you soon people, and for those who couldnt make it this time, remember; there is always WCG.
