Yo,

Haven't blogged really, for a while, so I guess it is time, for those who follow/ed my small contributions and my work.

First of all I want to start with DOTA2 (game). Even though, I've got my betakey relatively early, I haven't played that much (~100 games in total). It is not that I don't like the game, actually I prefer it over DotA, but I simply can't enjoy playing alone. I can't wait for next big invite flow, so I can finally start playing it with my best mates. Also, pubs are really annoying because of Poles/Greeks/Russians w/e, so I can't wait Russian server to be added. Past few months I've played LoL a lot. Got around 800 played games on EU N&E server. Game is friendly, and I constantly play with 4 friends from Inet Cafe so it feels great. I'm surprised I started to like it that much, because I hated that game a lot before really trying it out. You really have to play ~50 games to get used to it, and to start liking it. There is no escape then :). Also, after readings some tweaks for upcoming WoW expansion, my interest in that game is really big, like in good old Vanilla/Tbc times. Started leveling resto shaman and it goes great, with improved dungeons and fast leveling system.

Aside from playing everything else but DotA, I watched many streams, and read many news. This story was told so many times, but I need to say that even though skill level, and game support (tournaments/sponsors) are growing fast, community and player-professionalism are slacking a bit. I feel disappointed that fanboysm is affecting community so much, and people should do more research before insulting anyone. Both recent 'dramas' are handled badly so I can't judge anyone, though.

I also want to point out something that I see as a problem. I recently read two huge interviews made by prodota, and players being interviewed aren't dealing with questions the way they should. You would call that confidence, or whatever, but you can't simply insult someone in your answers. Even if you do want, you do it with professional approach, and you pick words wisely.

Now I'm coming to the part that most of you wanted to read, and that is why you opened this blog: My management career, and GamersLeague's plans.

Ever since our previous squad, big men and friends, left for Fnatic organization, I haven't had an opportunity to work on something big/serious on the level it was with Serbian squad. We tried to bring fresh and talented team, but we made few mistakes in starts that we almost overcome, but Drayich & co. did what they thought would be best for them -> left for Reason gaming. I wish them good luck and nice stay there, and I do not doubt in their success.

GamersLeague will step away from DOTA2 for some time, as we don't wont mediocre deal, and organization will focus it's resources into StarCraft2 and Trackmania. Next two months are really important for us, because they should bring us few huge deals that are going to boost our annual budget a lot. We have plan to sign professional team, and provide them with very best (both with finances and promotional/management stuff). So, until organization make annual plan, and we find team we really want, we will just step away and follow scene progress.

Thank you for reading,
MrUrKe

I agree that the beta sucks for non-professional players but I'm sad to see GL out of Dota 2 business for a while. Did you consider hiring an American team tho? They are hot atm (no pun intented), you may find what you're looking for in their scene.

#1 Yes we did, but we haven't found decent opportunity as I said. At the moment, only FIRE is both free agent, and competitive, but still there are few problems we can't overcome. Like they still haven't won anything, so you should call them talent, and we already tried that option. Also, expenses for Americans are at least 300% bigger than for European team. And so on :)

It is not like we will stay out whole season, rather we will wait LAN season actually to begin. Then we can have real overview.

GL seems like a good organisation and Mr.UrKe a dedicated and active manager.

Best of luck and I'm looking forward to your new Dota 2 team!
