Hello dear users. I have now been quite busy with streaming, catching up to different teams, checking out news etc for the last couple of weeks. I recently stumbled upon D2R.org the organizer for the D2 Brawl. I saw a lot of news post about the Puck incident and now ofcourse we have the entire episode with team Dignitas. I starting reading the entire spam of posts defending ComeWithMe and was surprised aswell as puzzled too how little our community has actually changed throughout these last 5 years. And the difference between today and 5 years ago is..... NOTHING! The same people flaming, bashing, steamrolling etc etc. I really hoped that the MOBA community as a whole had moved away from this kind of behavior, but *sigh*. I guess we just have to come to terms with that a lot of people will try to convice organizer and sponsors that their player/team dosen't really have to follow the rules.... Why should they? Why should any of us follow these so called "rules"? Which comes to the conclusion of this blog... People would rather use meaningless fighting then friendly dialog. What is your opinion on the matter? Are rules just there to be broken or what? |
Couldn't agree more.
First things first, don't use that "MOBA" crap to describe my favorite game please. Second, yes, I agree, it's sad that people have such a strict herd mentality about rules. But at the same time, given how elitist infested the community is, it'd be hard to get anything done without a concrete philosophy like that. If you consider all sides, then the burden lies on those who make the rules in the first place. If they make rules that make sense, and if all players agree to the rule while knowing exactly what the rules mean explicitly, then there should be no problem following the rules.
Very true :(
I don't mid rudeness if there is a solid argument behind it. The problem is that most of the times there isn't.
Noone forces you to take part in a tournament,if you participate, follow the rules. If you dont follow the rules, get disqualified, simple as that.Where is the prob?it doesnt matter if a rule makes sense in your opinion or it doesnt.Players should be glad that there are already so many possibilities to compete with others and to win money.Man,and if they told cwm not to stream, but he did...very dumb and it,s right that they disqualified him.Where was the prob to turn of his stream?
#5 I agree with you! I completly agree with you, i just wanted a debate going wether or not pro players should stop acting like "gods".
