#2 I have six nuked comments. Five of them were when a new mod bizarrely nuked an entire discussion in which I was civil but this other guy was going nuts. By your logic here, when should I expect a ban? This seems to be a totally arbitrary conception of when you wield your banning power.

Don't know your case, therefore I can't comment on it. If you felt it was unjustified you should have contacted our head moderator.

Even so, there is a way up to the same amount he has. Some people just doesn't learn. I have been here since 2007 and I haven't had a single censored comment.

I dislike the idea of running to someone everytime there's a problem. It's better to be able to take care of oneself independently in a civil way. That's why when the mod came and nuked about thirty comments including ones just calmly discussing an issue, I decided that since I really don't care about how many comments would be deleted that it was their problem -- the ones who did that. If we treat people who are reasonable / civil that way, we should expect no respect, as we offer none in return.

It's unclear what you imply about the number of comments you had deleted. Given the questionable basis for deletion in some of the comments (and bannings), I wonder if there was any opinionated content that a mod may not like. In general, I'm not impressed with some mods' here ability to keep personal views on controversies apart from their banning and nuking power. If some remain in their favor, it doesn't mean those who aren't did something wrong.

No one have said you need to do that every time there is a problem. But if we don't know there is a problem, then it is hard to do something about it. Mostly people just whine when they have been locked/censored which doesn't exactly help them when we have to review their cases. If you truly feel that it is total bullshit then one needs to stop flaming us and tell us with sentences why and how and so on.

It is not easy being a mod. And we are always open for discussion if it is constructive. Even though it doesn't look like it.

I am not sure I follow your 2nd part of the post. Guess we are talking past each other ^^

I understand -- it's not easy. That's why most of the time I would say nothing and just be happy someone is there to get rid of annoying spam and to boot people who clearly do not mean well.

But it becomes necessary to say something when people who, by their actions on behalf of DotA, have earned respect are treated with absolutely none at all. They are banned faster than one of these guys who are repeatedly warned for racism, personal hatred, etc. It becomes necessary to point out that there have been cases like this before, namely in which a mod was pissed off at some posters because of his personal feelings in a controversy (say, DotA vs. HoN arguments) and deleted / banned mass numbers of people.

The second point was that if somebody has no comments deleted in years, it doesn't necessarily mean anything. I would wonder if they ever expressed an opinionated position in a pointed way, which just happened to go against the personal feelings of a mod who likes to wield his power. There are people who never really take much of a position at all, even when they see decent guys getting banned for little grounds. There are people who just happily go where they're told and feel secure in doing that.

It's easy as that: There are rules, every time you post there is a link to the rules above the textfield you type your comment/reply in.
We have an average of 100.000 unique visitors a day, do you think we have the time to warn everybody for every bad post he/she makes?
There are rules, if you follow them you are fine, if you don't, repeatedly, and you don't even notice yourself that your behaviour is over the top, then it's your own fault.
