the only reason gosugamers.net/dota has risen up and had a "good community" was because dota-allstars' competitive section was dead, and playdota site took some time to be established which later on became a site for children who dream about heroes rather than competitive players. most of the "active people in community" have registered in 2009 when the split occured on april. also note that if u check very old news or replays. ull find 0 comment or 1, 2 comments at best. gosugamers is at a good position, however it can fail due to some serious mistakes (hopefully not). so yeah gosugamers success was a cause and effect thing directly related to the fall of dota-allstars.com, we have a mature and wonderful crew that can grow and manage the community in an appropriate way. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- replies #4 i agree with the fact that mym's breakdown is also a factor in gosugamers.net/dota community rise. i did not included it because mymym went back-on, and users who visited mymym before, they are now visiting mymym and gg.net both at the same time. #2 zeyall did u read all what i said or no? | the rise of gosugamers came before d-a.com was going down. and it was not just with the fall of d-a.com, but with the help of very good admins who do everything for the community. |
| Ok, clever boy. By reading your post, i'll just assume that you know nothing neither about this site nor the community here itself. It has nothing to do with the fallen of D-A.com and it never should. GG.net has one of the best replay section compare to other sites, beside Replays.net of course. The news section is improving day after day, with plenty fresh new ideas from the editors themselves. Quite some time ago, people said that GG.net's visitors keep rising because myMYM.com decided to shut down their DotA section and that's just some BULLSHIT created by some ignorant people like you, my boy. |
| You forgot the most influential dota site: mymym.com which was even more popular then the competitive dota section on dota-allstars.com. And although you could say that the people from gg.net/dota did a decent job it would be pretty foolish to say that the massive migration was not due to the inactivity of the two greatest dota sites in the world. Gosugamers.net got really lucky but that doesn't change anything so i dont see the point of your blog... |

| Some good points by the blogger. I myself know that i got involved in the gosu community due to both DA and DP ( Dota Portal) going down the drain. I also agree that the crew is doing an ok job but as you said due to the influx of new members changing the composition of the community the crew has to be able to adapt their actions and coverage to cater to the growing majority. |

The Loda thing was taken totally wrong from both Loda himself and the community. We never said he will stop DotA and play HoN, but that he plays a couple of games with his friends. about the news loda joining aeon.ru: same point as above. we only mentioned he is listed in their roster AND played a few games with them. the news says that his future career is still unknown to us, since he didnt gave a statement to this. and the news copying from MYM: both, GG and myMYM have to write about the same news. It may happen that they are faster and the content of the news is the same (compare it to other media portals today: all are writing about the new iPad :F) |
