ElkY will be going to San Fransisco, after going through the French WCG preliminaries earlier today. He only lost one game, against
nB)KymZen in his second game.
In the Disney Village of Paris, 12 French players battled for the one ticket to the World Cyber Games Grand Final in San Fransisco. Apart from ElkY and AspeaK, who were France's representants last year, the players qualified from four preliminaries around France. The vast majority's favourite was of course Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, who flew home from South Korea to participate. And just as Grrr... in the » Canadian preliminaries, ElkY had a huge pressure on him, being a progamer and all.
Held out despite the pressure
In the semifinals, ElkY faced his previous ghost, nB)KymZen. The semifinals were played best of three. "KymZen has holded ElkY in difficulties, but the progamers' experience made ElkY win." writes SaLieri- in his report at WGTour. Together with MgZ)Kaoru they were the administrators of the tournament. Unlike Grrr..., ElkY managed to win the preliminary. This is the fifth time in a row ElkY will be representing France in WCG.
Ended 8th last year
In last year's WCG, ElkY made it through his group easily with 6-0, which gave him Phellan[S2] in the hexafinals. Next up were the quarterfinals and Fisheye[pG], who was too much for the French progamer. He lost with 2-0 versus the WCG runner-up. Together with AspeaK in the 2on2 tournament, they lost to Spain in the first round.
How will ElkY do this year, when WCG is in the USA?
