DreamHack Winter 2017 "Chicken For Two" Viewer’s Guide

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is set to make an appearance during the upcoming DreamHack Winter 2017 event with its highly anticipated "Chicken For Two" $10,000 open tournament.

With 2017 coming to a close, we are in store for yet another major PUBG tournament, from the same organizers which started the game’s pro scene. We are talking about none other than the esports giants, DreamHack. In just a couple of days, we are PUBG is set to make its way to Sweden, to kick off the most anticipated esports event to date, DreamHack Winter 2017.

In collaboration with Twitch and ASUS ROG, DreamHack will be hosting its second event for PUBG called “Chicken For Two – PUBG for everyone." This first-of-its-kind event will feature a free-for-all competition where DreamHack attendees from all around the world can come and participate. The tournament will be Duo style in First Person Perspective. 

The qualifiers for the tournament will be held around the clock, giving everyone an equal chance to show their skills. DreamHack Winter 2017 will be going live on December 1 and will run through until December 3 where the top 48 teams will be invited to compete in the event’s final round.

Details on the exact timing for the qualifying rounds can be seen below:

 

  • Friday: 16.30 – 22.00 CET
  • Saturday: 10.00 – 22.00 CET
  • Sunday: 10.00 – 12.00 CET

 

The final round will consist of a total of three game rounds with a new, reset, leaderboard. After the end of each round, teams will be awarded points based on their performance during the three rounds. After which the top 3 teams will be crowned champions, and will take home the grand prizes.

“Throughout the tournament," the event page states, "there will also be special achievement prizes for all participants, whether you’re a stone cold chicken dinner aficionado, or a pan-handling camper.”

The team that finishes in third will receive travel, hotel and premium tickets to the next DreamHack Masters in Sweden, while the second place team will score two ASUS ROG Swift PG27AQ monitors. The grand prize is a CPU bundle: two ROG GR8 II, two Core i7-7700, two 16GB DDR4, two GTX 1060 and two 256GB SSD/1TB HDD, as well as what DreamHack promises to be "awesome trophies."
