PUBG 1.0 Update Test Servers Are Back With More Changes

Bluehole Studios is back with its second run of the upcoming PC 1.0 update test servers. Those of you who wish to check out what's next for the title can do so in the game's PTR servers right now.

Over the past few days, players got a glimpse of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ upcoming changes with its first run of PC 1.0 test servers. However, since this new update is set to add in quite a number of new features, Bluehole Studios is taking extra precautions. As a result, the developers are back with the test servers but this time a couple of additional changes have been added.  

For a bit of a background, the forthcoming PC 1.0 PUBG update is going to be adding some of the most anticipated features of the game. This includes additional vaulting animations, two new weapons (DP-28 and AUG A3) and hit damage reworks.

Furthermore, the developers are set to bring in some other changes as well including optimizations, UI/UX changes, and bug fixes. For more details, check out the official patch notes here.

The changes have been tested out in the first test run which kicked off on November 24. However, after taking feedback from its fans, Bluehole Studios are going to changing a few things, the second time around.

As a result, the patch notes for the second PC 1.0 PTR update have been updated. For more details, check out the updated changelog below:

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the issue of the boost icon not showing up on the health bar when a player uses a boost item

Kill Cam

  • (Note: please enable the kill cam in Options before you enter a match)
  • Fixed some of the crashes related to the kill cam function
  • Fixed the client freezing issue right after recording the kill cam
  • Fixed the issue of weapon images overlapping in the inventory slot
  • Fixed the delay on weapon swapping animation when watching a kill cam

Sound

  • Improved the red zone bomb sound effects and modified the volume of the explosions

UI/UX

  • Changed the font for game HUD, inventory item names, etc.
  • Improved the design of the compass
  • Improved the back panel colors and transparency for all game HUD elements
  • Improved the back panel colors and transparency for kill log icons
  • Applied a blur effect to the background of the game result screen
  • Changed death icon of kill log into a skull shape icon
