Draco joins OGN Sparkyz

[s]korea[/s]

Rumors were going round for quite some while about Draco's pro team in Korea, now FighterForum disclosed the secret : Draco joins OGN Sparkyz and he will be granted pro status.

China Pj and his compatriot China Lx have been the only non Korean pro gamer for quite some while, but as Korea FighterForum.com announced Poland Nal_Draco will join the team of OGN Sparkyz and he will be granted pro status immediately. Draco moved to Korea 1-2 months ago with Poland SunCow and participated in two courage tournaments until now to join a pro team and become pro gamer. Unfortunately he didn't win any of those tournaments, but lost in the 4th round. Nevertheless he managed to become pro without winning any courage tournament, because OGN Sparkyz sent a recommendation to grant him pro status. A team can grant pro status to two players a year, regardless of their results in the courage tournament. This means Draco is officially pro gamer and member of OGN Sparkyz.

FighterForum published the following details about Draco and his trip to Korea :

"Draco took a team test with OGN Sparkies as soon as he came to Korea. He went 3-4, and the OGN coaches saw that he had potential. Draco has been living in OGN headquarters since July 18th. Although Draco did not pass the courage tournament, OGN will use one of their team exceptions to give Draco pro status (like what SKT did for PJ and LX)"

Great news for the whole Broodwar scene and especially for Draco as he finally managed to become pro gamer and join a pro team. He competed in several events and ladders such as JOPD- league, PGTour and EuroCup and he finished them mostly with quite impressive results. Contrary to Lx and Pj on SKTelecom, Draco might be able to participate in the upcoming Pro League as OGN lacks of skilled Protoss players. A comment of Coach Myung-Geun Lee of OGN makes this clear:

"Draco will help reinforce our shaky Protoss line. We could use him as early as 2006 Second ProLeague."

The last words of the OGN coach might be the most promising one's as we might be able to see Draco playing in the next Pro League. The chances of Pj and Lx aren't that big to participate in the Pro League as SKTelecom has a very impressive roster, Draco's chances will be way bigger. GosuGamers wishes Draco the best of luck and success in his career as a pro gamer.
