Razavi outlasted a massive field of 3,404 entrants in what turned out to be a grueling four-day
grind. On the final day of play, Razavi defeated a formidable final-table lineup that included Amanda Musumeci, an up-and-coming female poker pro who first burst upon the scene in last year’s WSOP Main Event Championship, when she finished 62nd.
Musumeci cashed nine times on the WSOP Circuit during this past season, but this runner-up finish trumps all those cashes, with her collecting $481,643 in prize money for the deep run.
For Razavi, the win was worth $781,398, and makes him a serious contender in the 2102 “WSOP Player of the Year” race. His previous best finish in a WSOP event was for fifth place in the 2010 $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha event.
