Shaun Deeb Lands Second Career SCOOP Victory

The win marks the second career SCOOP title for Deeb, the first coming in last years Badugi event. Deeb found himself in familiar territory on day 2 of the event where, similar to the Badugi event, he was short stacked on the money bubble and when the final table bubble bursted.
He came into the final table sitting 6 of 8 with 22,904 chips but quickly recovered and had accumulated 135,096 by the time the heads-up portion of the match was reached, but was still a dog to his opponent, “TheMuppet”, who had 184,904 in chips. After an hour of heads-up play, Deeb had taken the lead and the tourney looked all but over when the two got all the chips in on fourth street with Deeb holding 66/67 to “TheMuppet”s K2/29. Unfortunately for Deeb, “TheMuppet” hit running 2’s for quads. But “TheMuppet”s luck quickly ran out, and Deeb won the event just a few hands later.
