Elky Playing All 120 PokerStars SCOOP Events, Chasing Second Title

Don’t be surprised if you see Bertrand “Elky” Gropellier at your table in this month’s PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Series. The European poker pro is taking a break from live action to grind out all 120 events in the series in an attempt to secure his second title. In the 2011 SCOOP series, Grospellier defeated “Iftarii” in the final match of the $25,000 Heads-up event to claim his first SCOOP title.

"I felt exceptionally blessed to be able to do so well and pick up the SCOOP title that was missing from my resume," Grospellier says via his blog, "I'm definitely coming back for more this year. I'm on the road a lot more these days playing in big live events like EPTs, FPS and others. Sometimes it's hard to get into a good online routine. SCOOP tournaments are definitely the perfect opportunity, so I'm going to play all of them at every buy-in in order to get that second title."

On top of his SCOOP victory, Grospellier has also secured two PokerStars WCOOP titles over the course of his lengthy online career.
