Alan Meltzer, Poker Playing Music Mogul, Leaves $1.5M to Chauffeur, Doorman

Posted by Tyler "pureonyx" Hancock 3 months ago
The New York Post is reporting that Meltzer, who lived in a luxury apartment building on New York's Upper East Side, left $1 million to his chauffeur, Jean Laborde, and $500,000 to his doorman, Chamil Demiraj.

Meltzer accumulated his wealth as a music executive, donating some on the felts during frequent trips to Las Vegas where he competed in some of the world’s toughest cash games. Meltzer made an appearance on High Stakes Poker in 2009 where he competed against Tom Dwan, Phil Laak, Eli Elezra and Doyle Brunson among others. In one particularly memorable hand, Meltzer lost a monster $514,400 pot to Dwan, making a huge call on the river while holding KK versus Dwans JT on a 3ATJJ board.
