Phil Ivey Ships $2M in Aussie Millions Super High Roller Event

Posted by Tyler "pureonyx" Hancock 1 year, 20 weeks ago
The win is Ivey’s largest of his career, and comes on the heels of a deep run in the Aussie Millions Main Event where he placed 12th for $100,000. Adding $2.1M to his lifetime earnings also allowed Ivey to surpass Daniel Negreanu in the all-time money list, taking second place behind Erik Seidel.

The event attracted 16 players, for a total purse of $4M. Patrick Antonious took 2nd taking home $1.2M, and Gus Hansen, who had eliminated internet favorite Tom “Durrr” Dwan early in the event, took 3rd for the remaining $800k. Daniel Negreanu bubbled the event when his A8 failed to improve against Antonious’s pockets jacks all-in pre-flop. Other stars in the field included last year's champion Erik Seidel and runner-up Sam Trickett.
