Scott Seiver Profile

Scott Seiver is a former Magic: The Gathering player who has become one of the top young pros in the poker world. He won the 2011 World Poker Tour World Championship event at the Bellagio for $1.6 million. He also won the 2008 World Series of Poker $5k NLHE event for $755k to top off his 11 other cashes in various WSOP events.

Seiver enjoys big buy in events and he won the $25k buy-in High Roller event at the 2010 L.A. Poker Classic for $425k. Seiver finished third in the 2009 PCA High Roller event won by Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier. Although predominately a cash game player online, his biggest online tournament score was $134k for a second place finish in the Sunday Million in April 2007. He regularly plays $25/$50 and $50/$100 NLHE online or higher against all comers with profits well over a million. Seiver has total live tournament winnings that exceed $4.2 million. Seiver was born April 14, 1985 in Columbus, Ohio and currently calls Las Vegas, Nevada home.

  • Seiver defeated Daniel Alaei, Jason Mercier, Lee Markholt, Tommy Vedes and Will Molson at the final table of his High Roller win.

When asked how he feels about playing so many big buy in events, he said...
“It’s kind of the same when I play nosebleeds. I don’t feel a whole lot of stress at the time, when I’m playing. It’s not until after when the stress of winning or losing tons of money really sinks in. So maybe you should check with me in six hours. I might be just shaking and twitching on the ground.”
