Liv Boeree Wins Sunday Warm Up on Pokerstars

Team Pokerstars Pro Live Boeree won the $215 buy-in Pokerstars Sunday Warm Up tournament, navigating through a field of 4,710 players to take down the $147,780.96 first prize.

The heads-up battle between respected online pro James "mig.com" Mackey and Boeree lasted for over an hour. Boeree was fortunate at one point when she pushed all in with her short stack with 9d-Qs. Mackey called with Kd-Jc. The board came 9c-Ah-2c-Ad-5c, giving Boeree a pair of Nines and a key double-up.

Boeree soon gained the chip advantage and never looked back.

The final hand of the battle saw "mig.com" push all-in pre-flop holding Ad-6c. Boeree was dealt pocket Sevens and made the call.

The board came 5s-Qh-9s-5c-Qc, eliminating Mackey in second place to collect his $109,743.

Daniel "KidPoker" Negreanu, Pieter De Korver, Marcin “Goral” Horecki all made deep runs in the event as well.

The 26 year-old Boeree has won over $2 million dollars from live tournaments in her relatively short professional poker career. She won the 2010 EPT San Remo Main Event for 1.25 million euros for her biggest score.
Boeree Tweeted soon after... “weeeeeeee…Just shipped the Sunday warm up on PokerStars for $147,780 :-D .” She was soon to bed after one last Tweet...“Have to be up in 3.5 hours to do commentary for UKIPT TV show uh oh.”
