DRX makes it two Pacific League teams in the VCT Masters Tokyo playoffs

DRX will be the second VCT Pacific team to make it to the VCT Masters Tokyo playoffs.

After faltering against Evil Geniuses in Group B's winner's match-up, DRX has redeemed itself with a playoff spot. DRX defeated FUT Esports after pulling off a comeback to win the series 2-1 and secure itself a slot at the VCT Masters Tokyo playoffs.

FUT started the series off on the front foot with their pick of Bind, winning nine of the first 12 rounds. This also includes claiming seven rounds in a row to head into halftime with a dominant lead in game one. And while DRX did rally in the second half, FUT were too far ahead and only needed four wins to take the first map.

DRX would have the second pick of the map with Fracture but both teams never seemed to have an edge, going 6-6 into the half. But with DRX on the offensive in the second half, they would go on to win the map in the next nine rounds, winning seven of those in the process.

With the series tied 1-1, we headed to Haven for the final game of the series. It was FUT on the offensive for the first half and it was an unfortunately dismal showing from the EMEA squad, who could only pick up one win in the first 12 rounds. DRX, on the other hand, were clinical throughout the half, relying more on kills and team wipes rather than defusing the spike.

This left DRX with just two round wins away from winning in the second half, which prompted FUT to change up its approach. They would go on to win the first two rounds before DRX was able to claim the 15th and 17th rounds of the series to take the win and move on to the playoffs.
