Brazil's final hope at M3 is eliminated as we wave goodbye to Keyd Stars

Another elimination series was on the cards today at M3, as Blacklist International looked to avoid being upset by Keyd Stars in the lower bracket.

Having already eliminated two teams in the lower bracket, Keyd Stars were looking to cause their first major upset since their shock victory over Onic Esports during the group stages. However, things would not be that easy, as the last remaining Brazilian squad would need to surpass the MPL PH champions, Blacklist International. Although BloodThirstyKings had already proven that this was possible, Blacklist seemed to be in high spirits going into the series.

As these two teams survived the best-of-three moments, they had earned the right to move onto best-of-five series, which could prove to be the determining factor in their lower bracket run. Blacklist seemed to have complete control on game one, looking to walk down and take the win without too many issues. However, Keyd were not ready to give up, as they fought back and turned the game around at one point. Sadly, the Brazilians seemed to lose their communication for only a second, which gave Blacklist the chance to come back and take the win.

The next game of the series was absolutely brutal from Blacklist, as they went through it without a single death. The PH champions were clinical, punishing the Aldous pick from Keyd, never allowing their opponents a single moment back into the game – with Wise’ Bane taking a massive 952 GPM into the end of the game.

Blacklist were just completely unstoppable after their small hiccup in game one, as they pummeled the Brazilians with another dominating performance in the third game. By 11-minutes in, Blacklist were at the crystal, wiping out Keyd under their towers and taking a flawless three game sweep.

Unfortunately for Keyd, they would be eliminated from M3, having performed extremely admirably through the event. For Blacklist International, they looked far better today than they had in their upper bracket series against BTK, and now look like a team ready to challenge for the M3 World Championship title.
