Oceanic Summer Series ends with Fusion Girls dominating the competition

Coming into the last day, Fusion Girls came in as the favourites, and they lived up to all expectations.

After dominating all competition up until the final four, and only dropping two maps, it was very much expected that Fusion Girls would be able to clean up the finals to take the title. The final day of the whole event began with Fusion Girls taking on Love Shack in the first of the semi final matchups.

The difference in skill level between the two teams was made very apparent, with Fusion Girls taking the series 3-0 in incredibly dominant fashion, not giving any room to Love Shack.

On the other side of the bracket, Scylla Esports and JAM Gaming clashed in one of the closest series of the tournament. Trading maps the whole way through, the series went to game five on Eichenwalde. JAM on attack had a very quick take of the first point, but was stalled out on the bridge long enough to make a full push very difficult. Scylla on the other hand was able to push through, taking the series 3-2 and locking in a grand final match against Fusion Girls.

Scylla was able to take a map off Fusion Girls in their last match just the day before, so there was some hope that they would be able to replicate that success. This would not be the case though, as Fusion Girls were taking no prisoners, taking the series and the tournament with a 3-0 victory.

Rqt has mentioned that he and his team are looking to play internationally, with ANZ and SEA a stepping stone hopefully to something greater. It has already been a great start to 2017 for Fusion Girls, and we will just have to wait and see how things pan outt for the team.
