Evil Geniuses finished 2nd in group C of Corsair Cup, defeating 4FC in the Lower Bracket Final. The last group stage matches will be played out this week to determine the final 2 teams to qualify for the play-off.
In the Loser vs Loser match of group C, 4FC and Denial eSports pushed it all the way to the 3rd game which saw 4FC come out on top. The Swedes dropped a game due to some sloppy play by their stand-in carry player, but took the other 2 games quite convincingly to set up a clash with American powerhouse Evil Geniuses.
4FC fought valiantly, but the skill gap was too wide to overcome. The American team dominated and closed the series in 2 straight games. They will go through to the play-off stage along with Team Dignitas.
Group D will start tomorrow with Keita Gaming vs Mousesports and Team Empire vs Flipsid3. Mouz is the clear favorite to top this group, but the fight for 2nd place will be interesting to watch. Empire has yet to recover their status as a Tier 1 team, Flipsid3 is a team with vast experience and individual skill while Keita can pull an upset if they perform well.
