The rosters of some teams had already been revealed, but today we found out all of the players who will be competing in the 2017 Overwatch World Cup.
While we still wait for more information about the Overwatch League, at least Blizzard is giving us some esport candy. Today they announced the rosters of the teams competing in the Overwatch World Cup. Last November, at Blizzcon, the very first World Cup was played, but this year, they’re doing things a bit differently. Instead of the community voting for players like they did last year, they now got to vote for a committee instead. This jury then were to assemble the strongest team they could, to represent their country at Blizzcon 2017. Today Blizzard revealed all the rosters for this year’s World Cup, along with the dates for the next stage.
If we were to look closer at some of the teams, there are some that stand out as, on paper, strong contenders. Team France consists of the Rogue squad, which is…well, pretty scary for most opponents. Another team that looks stacked is South Korea, which has a star-studded roster containing all world class players. One of the favorites from last year in Team Sweden has four players from Misfits, along with Chipshajen from EnVy and CWoosH from Movistar Riders. CWoosH might be an odd pick to some, but he has sure made a name for himself via the great results his team has shown recently. But these are not the only teams that are looking interesting. With Germany, Russia and USA having strong-looking teams, this will be a clash you don’t want to miss. Oh, and let’s not forget about Team Canada, Finland, Spain, China…
