Initiating archive declassification - Overwatch Teaser

Blizzard has shared with us the next date you will want to pay attention to, as an Overwatch fan.

It might seem like we just got Orisa, but she has in fact been playable for over a month now (originally on PTR). Considering that, the arrival of the next big update Overwatch is something we should start expecting.

The below tweet posted today by the official Blizzard channels teases something exactly like that:

Normally with such a teaser, we'd immediately go for either a new hero or new map. We'd of course love a new hero already, but that option isn't as likely currently because of Orisa. Similarly, the fact King's Row is mentioned makes a new map unlikely as well.

The information we do get from this teaser is that some big event has happened in the past: the King's Row uprising. In a world still scarred by the Omnic Crisis, this uprising could provide a lot of answers to questions we have about the exact nature of Overwatch's primary storyline.

So while this new announcement, happening on the 11th of April, will most likely be a success for lore junkies, we are still hoping some actual ingame content will come alongside it. We haven't had a seasonal event in quite some time, and Jeff has confirmed no Easter event is planned for this year. Maybe because they will instead be releasing a seasonal event based on the Overwatch world's own customs. If this uprising was indeed such a big deal seven years ago, they might have designated April 11th as the day to remember it.
