ICYMI: Orisa now available for Competitive Play

As announced, Orisa is now available for Ranked Play.

Even though Orisa has been playable since March 2nd, on the Public Test Realm, Blizzard made the decision to ban her for a bit after her official release. Banned in Ranked Play that is, and we are happy they did.

Those of you who were with us when Ana was released will remember that Ana wasn't as highly regarded back then as she is now. Ana's particular kit made her seem underpowered, an idea only strengthened by the flood of inexperienced Ana's during those first weeks.

Sombra was different, in that she was much harder to play. Because of that, she was quickly abandoned by all but the most dedicated DPS players. Even still, Sombra's launch yet again ruined the experience of Competitive Players during those first days.
This is why Blizzard made the decision to ban Orisa for the first week after her official launch. A decision seen as the rule in plenty of MOBA games, and something completely understandable for Overwatch.

Even still, while Orisa is now available for you and your allies and opponents, you might want to avoid Competitive mode for the coming days. Orisa is a lot easier to play than Sombra and even Ana, and having more tank players is hardly ever a problem, but the games will still be more chaotic than usual because of. If you can't wait to play competitive play than at least don't add to the toxicity by cursing at Orisa players. That's all we can ask.
