Day One of the Oceanic Summer Series Finals brings some interesting results

The top six got narrowed down to four, and looking at who is left, it may not be as easy for Fusion Girls as initially thought.

Coming into the whole event, Fusion Girls has set the standard for play in the region, dominating every team they come across in their path to the top six, and it was looking like no team could match them.

Overall they were able to take the first place in the group, setting themselves up brilliantly for the bracket stage, but they did drop a couple of maps, something that Rqt had said that the team was wanting to avoid. One at the beginning of the day to Em Aye Lakers off stream, and another at the end of the day to Scylla Esports.

Despite falling just twice, Fusion Girls still look to be the overwhelming favourite heading into the final four.

For the rest of the pack, there was a lot of close maps, with not many teams able to get the 3-0's needed to really contest Fusion Girls at the top of the table. In the end, Scylla was able to overcome the rest of the challengers, holding onto the second seed and will be going up against JAM Gaming in the semi finals.

FG, Scylla, and JAM came out of the qualifying groups as first seeds, so it isn't too surprising to see them continue to perform well. Coming into the day, Tempo Storm pulled out of the tournament, leaving Love Shack and Em Aye Lakers to fight for that last semi final spot. By the end of the day, Love Shack managed to scrape enough points together to help secure a matchup against Fusion Girls.

There's only one more day of play to go for the Oceanic Summer Series, with the winning team taking home $10k AUD. Fusion Girls remain the favourites, but Scylla and JAM have been showing strong performances throughout the event, and continue to show signs of improvement.

The stream of the Oceanic Summer Series finals begins at 12pm AEDT and will be over at twitch.tv/fullcircle.
