Here's a suggestion: More reticle options

If you could change something in Overwatch, what would it be? You don’t always have to go big. Sometimes it’s the subtle changes that feels the greatest. In this series, we’ll go over some of the quality of life changes that could be made in Overwatch.

Current

At the moment there’s a few options to change the look of your reticle. To be precise, there’s the following looks to choose from: default, circle, crosshairs, short crosshairs and dot as well as seven colors. But is that enough? Should more options be added? Let’s speculate!

Changes

The best option would be to add about five more reticle looks to choose from. Nothing crazy though; A big dot, triangle and drops are some ideas, as well as a few more color options.

Up- and downsides

A few people are having troubles with the current reticles. Either the colors or sizing are off for their taste. So, the clear upside about this change would be to please this group of people. Also, five reticle options can seem a bit on the low side. If we compare Overwatch to other games, (like CS:GO, Team Fortress 2 or Call of Duty,) Overwatch is lacking a bit. Especially considering the fact we will probably never be able to upload our own, custom ones.

But it’s important to get this option right. Having reticles that are too “wild” will only make the game even more hectic and confusing than it already can be, especially when thinking about the spectator experience. A simple follow up option would be to only allow certain reticles for tournament play. (And maybe even for competitive mode.) Custom games have a lot of options, so tossing in a “only allow basic reticles” could also be a good idea.

While this change isn't of high priority, little customization changes like these are very important to keep polishing the game years down the line. And why not aim for improving this little detail first...

Do you agree to these changes? Or do you have your own quality of life change for Overwatch? Be sure to let us know!
