Gods joins Cloud9's Overwatch team in time for APEX S2

Just when you thought the NA scene wasn't changing enough, a top contender changes things up.

Cloud9 will be adding former NRG member Daniel ‘Gods’ Graesar to the starting roster. This change comes off the back of a semifinal finish at MLG Vegas and Cloud9’s recently announced invitation to OGN Apex Season 2.

Concurrently, Cloud9 has announced three of their players: Lane ‘Surefour’ Roberts, Lucas ‘Mendokusaii’ Hakansson, and Gods, himself, will be occupying the flex role, as opposed to their former DPS positions. This small systemic change was done to better reflect the evolving competitive Overwatch meta, valuing flexibility in compositions.

Gods had this to say about his recent change:

Becoming part of such an amazing organization is definitely a huge opportunity for my career, and I can’t wait to see all that we can accomplish together. I’m also excited to be joining this roster of incredibly skilled players who know what it takes to win at the highest levels and are putting in the work to make that happen.

This change moves former flex player, Kyle ‘KyKy’ Souder, to an inactive role in the organization for the time being. The new roster will be immediately challenged, as OGN APEX season 2 starts January 17, pitting C9 against CONBOX Spirit, KongDoo Uncia, and Afreeca Freecs Blue in Group C.

Be sure to catch their first game as a new roster on January 20th against CONBOX Spirit live at www.twitch.tv/ognglobal.
