Here's a suggestion: Mercy's resurrection added to the "kill" feed

If you could change something in Overwatch, what would it be? You don’t always have to go big. Sometimes it’s the subtle changes that feels the greatest. In this series, we’ll go over some of the quality of life changes that could be made in Overwatch.

Current

At the moment, you can have a kill feed enabled in game. This option displays any players that die, and who got the killing blow on them. It also displays some player controlled units like Junkrat’s Rip-tire and Torbjörn’s turret. But another mechanic that “negates” a kill, Mercy’s resurrection, does not show on the kill feed.

Changes

The proposal is to add Mercy’s resurrection to the kill feed. Even though she is not played a lot at the moment, that should not affect the need for this addition.

Up- and downsides

First off, a lot of changes that the community feel should be added, Blizzard has actually thought about. But they do not have the time or the resources to work of quality of life changes. (Or they work on more important things.)

If we take a look at some of the upsides that could come from this, there’s a few things that comes to mind. A well timed ultimate from a Mercy can change the entire flow of a game. But in a hectic situation, it’s really hard to keep track on what players actually got resurrected. This is especially true if the team communication is lacking, or if you are further away from the actual fight and therefore miss what happens.

There’s also downsides to this change. One problem is that it punishes people that actually do keep track on what happens in the game, who lives and who dies. But this argument could be countered with things such as: in more casual gameplay it doesn’t matter, it’s hard to keep track on it when not directly in the fight, and so on.

Another downside is that it might clutter the killfeed. But that can be easily solved by not showing one resurrection on top of the other, and instead showing resurrection x 4, for example. And let’s not forget that it’s actually called “kill-feed,” and not… Revive-feed...

Lastly, even though there’s a few downsides to this change, there’s good counter arguments for them. So in the end this should be a valid change, but only if Blizzard thinks it through. There’s a lot of forum posts and Reddit threads that has been asking for this change for quite some time, so Blizzard is surely aware of the idea.
