It's Korea versus Europe in the IEM Gyeonggi Invitational

The teams that will be playing in the first ever Overwatch stadium event have been announced.

December 16th to 18th you can tune in for the first ever Overwatch LAN played in a stadium. The Goyang Sports Complex in Gyeonggi, South Korea will be housing six teams, a handful of casters and up to 41,000 Overwatch fans in this $100,000 invitational.

Intel Extreme Masters has partnered up with OGN to host the Overwatch event, as well as their usual Star Craft 2 and League of Legends tournaments. Considering the location, the majority of participants will be Korean. This is true for SC2 and LoL, and Overwatch will feature some of the big teams as well:

These are four of the five highest ranked Korean teams on our rankings, and would be the favorites in every domestic competition. But, joining them are two of the best European teams around: Rogue and Misfits. Rogue just recently got back from China & Korea, while Misfits unfortunately missed out on both APEX and APAC. Nevertheless, these two teams will be representing Europe and the West in general.

These two rosters are interesting in particular, because of yesterday's roster change revelations. Rogue is playing with two new players, SoOn and Skipjack, while Misfits will be adapting to a total of four new faces. With less than two weeks to go, including traveling time etc, we hope that these teams will be up for the Korean challenge.

And if not, we are at least guaranteed to see some exciting matches.
