The NA scene is still affected by the roster changes that happened weeks ago, and there is plenty of opportunity for teams to challenge top teams such as Cloud9 and FaZe.
Every month that we get closer to the Overwatch League is another month that teams and players can use to prove themselves. December is no different, and while we are getting quite a few major events to finish off the year, smaller tournaments are much more important for the tier 2+ teams.
One such team is Immortals. Backed by a well-known organization and with plenty of talent to go around, the Immortals roster is one of those 'almost there' teams. They have made solid progress over the past month or so, and are currently on a 6 match winstreak. As the 6th NA team on our rankings, they are looking to surpass teams such as FaZe and fnatic next.
And December has started off great in that sense. After barely coming in second during the Carbon Masters for November, Immortals has already won two events in December:
- Won $3,000
- Went 6-1 in total
- Only lost to FaZe
- Won against Cloud9 twice (3-1 and 3-2)
- Won $900
- Did not lose a match
Immortals did not qualify for MSI MGA, or get invited to MLG Vegas, but we are eagerly awaiting whatever event they will play in next.
