This Week's Brawl is: Justice Rains From Above

Dr. Junkenstein is gone, and we will have to wait for another year for him. But, as always another Brawl has taken its place.

Because of both the MOBA and shooter elements that Overwatch possesses, there are a lot of different factors that make up the gameplay. Clip size, projectile speed, cooldown length, hero kit; all these values and more are what create the balance in the game, and are thus very important. But what if you go crazy and just throw all balance overboard?

Well, that's what Blizzard has been doing in a lot of their games recently. Starting with Hearthstone´s Tavern Brawl, and now continued with Overwatch's own Brawl gamemode and Heroes of the Storm's recent Brawl mode, Blizzard is enabling environments in their games where the rules are made up and the points don't matter.

This week's Overwatch Brawl is called Justice Rains From Above, and it is not the first time it has come up in rotation. This particular Brawl consists of the following rules:

  • Only Mercy and Pharah are available
  • The speed of charging ults is half as fast
  • 75% Faster ability cooldowns
  • Only maps in the pool are the Capture Point ones

As always when this Brawl comes back, some people will love it and some will hate it. The inherent goofyness of Pharahs followed by Mercys floating in the air does not allow for much theorycrafting. If you are looking to practice your Pharah vs Pharah however, then you can really improve during this Brawl.

This specific Brawl will be in the game till the 9th of November, after which Blizzard will rotate in another set of rules for you to enjoy.
