Fnatic have been announced as the invited team to compete in the MSI MGA in London on Dec 7th-8th.
The qualification for the MSI MGA is over and Rise Nation will be representing the Americas. Ninja’s in Pyjamas are coming from Europe and KongDoo Panthera is travelling from Asia. These 3 have all qualified for the tournament on December 7th and 8th in London. Fnatic will be joining them as the tournament's invited team, by MSI themselves. The invitation brings with it a sponsorship from MSI as well as a chance at the $40,000 first place cash prize.
The tournament will take place at the Gfinity Arena in London where the 4 teams will battle for a championship title and a tidy sum of prize money. The prize money will be split up as follows.
- 1st Place- $40,000
- 2nd Place- $20,000
- 3rd Place- $10,000
- 4th Place- $5,000
The fact that there is a solid prize for every participant is a great reward for the competitors who have already made it so far in qualifiers. Every team who has made it so far has had to battle lots of big teams simply to qualify.
It will be interesting to see how Fnatic will fare against the other teams who have qualified. They are coming off of a perfect October month, winning all 5 of their matches this month, and are rated as one of the best teams in North America and top 5 in the world. According to rankings, their biggest competition will be Ninjas in Pyjamas, but the loss of iddqd will be felt greatly. The beauty of Overwatch is the unpredicatable nature of the action though, so don't assume anything and tune in to see who can pull off a shock, or cash in on their dominance.
