A new patch hit Overwatch’s Public Test Realm on Tuesday. The 2GB update brought along a Torbjörn buff and a Ana nerf, amongst other hero changes.
About a day ago, Blizzards principal designer Geoff Goodman made a post on Blizzards official forums, saying: ”I wanted to drop in and talk about our upcoming PTR patch that is due out very soon. We are going to try something a little different this time, so you might be surprised when you see the patch notes for it.”
Later on in the post, he explained that the PTR is likely to be around for a bit longer, and they are taking that opportunity to ”try out some more significant hero changes.”
A few hours ago, an update hit the PTR with some hero balances Some of the changes include:
- Ultimate costs have been increased by 25% for all heroes.
- Torbjörn now passively generates scrap, but the amount of scraps he picks up from dead enemies has been reduced. He has also gotten a swing speed and damage increase for his hammer.
- D.VA's mech now has 200 HP, which is 100 more than before. Her armor on top of that remains 400.
- Ana's Nano Boost no longer increases movement speed.
- Soldier 76's bullet damage and max bullet spread have been increased.
- Zarya now gains 20% less power from both of her barriers.
In the new forum post, Blizzard explains that they will be "continuously adjusting our heroes' stats" during this PTR testing, which will help them make tough decisions at a later stage.
There have also been some non-gameplay related changes. For one, you will now only need a maximum of 20,000 experience to level-up, and secondly some UI changes such as the one below have been found:
As always, don't forget that you can try out the changes yourself on the PTR, and give Blizzard the feedback they want and need to make the gameplay experience even better.
