Rise Nation will be the NA representative for MSI MGA

The first ever tri-regional tournament has its first team booked for the main event. The upstart Rise Nation shocked the world yesterday with their dominant run over North America's best.

MSI’s Masters Gaming Arena event is well under way, with the Regional Finals for North America, Europe and Asia taking place this week. Announced last month, open qualifiers for each region fed into the regional finals, from which three teams will move on to the main event in December. MSI will sponsor a fourth team to compete in the main event. The tri-regional tournament features a $75,000 prize pool.

All of the action will be live streamed on their twitch page: https://www.twitch.tv/msigamingameu.

The North American regional final took place over the weekend with Rise Nation upsetting Team Liquid in the final. Rise breezed through Tempo Storm and despite a close game 2, made quick work of Cloud9 to make it to the final without dropping a single map. Team Liquid, on the other hand, had a bit of a tougher road. After defeating Denial 2-0, they faced off in a tight three game series against FaZe, pulling out the win by the skin of their teeth.

The final was another close affair with Rise Nation winning map 1, Dorado, by only four seconds. Team Liquid was able to bounce back with a convincing win on Hollywood but fell to the up-and-coming Rise Nation squad on King’s Row to lose the series. Rise Nation will represent North America at the main event and are waiting for their European and Asian counterparts to be decided later this week.
