Wooridongne Game League semi-finals starting soon

Are you looking for some insight into the Korean scene? Then check out the Wooridongne Game League, featuring teams such as MVP Space.

Event Hub

Whenever a new eSports gets really big, people start saying things like "Wait till the Koreans start winning everything" or "These teams are good, but they dont take it as serious as the Koreans." So far, the west has had little insight into the Korean scene. Sure, some teams like MVP Space have dared to play in our GosuGamers Weeklies (always with significantly higher ping), but we are still lacking true cross-region competition between Asia and EU/NA.

While we wait for more international LANs to be announced, including Blizzard's own official approach to their eSports, we will have to make do with events such as the Wooridogne Game League.

The Playoffs of this event started a few weeks ago, and only four teams out of 16 are left. These four are playing for the single prize of:

  • $2,730 worth of cashprize
  • ROCCAT gear
  • a Sponsorship deal
  • A spot in an upcoming Korean Pro League

In about half an hour (12 CEST/19 KST), the semi-finals will be played, and you can tune in on Afreeca. There is the Korean stream and RaptorZ is providing an English stream.
