Mousesports to start recruiting Overwatch talent

The long-time esports organization is looking to pick up a team in Blizzard’s FPS Overwatch and scouting by team captain Frag^m has begun.

One of the longest-standing organizations in esports – Mousesports – is ready to expand once more. The Germany-based company is looking forward to signing Overwatch players to dip its toe into the rapidly growing scene of Blizzard’s new team-based shooter.

Overwatch will be the seventh division in Mousesports’ esports portfolio next to CS:GO, Vainglory, StarCraft 2, Fifa, Trackmania and Shootmania. The yet-unformed roster will be captained by ex Unreal Tournament player Klaus “Frag^m” Wiedemann who, according to the official press release, “will start scouting talent immediately”.

In Wiedemann’s own words, he’s looking for aspiring players to form a predominantly German team, which will be built slowly from the ground up, which means Mouse aren’t looking to buy into the game by picking up an already existing top roster.

“The teams in Overwatch have not really settled in. I am looking to build a team, that not only has a high skill ceiling, but also clicks on a personal level. I feel that long term, this approach fits the mousesports philosophy best,” writes Wiedemann.
