UPDATE 2: A few more things changed. The Chinese Team Veteran is going to be replacing EnVyUs who had to drop out. Because of this the bracket was also redone, so make sure you check it out below!

UPDATE: Even though IDDQD lost two players, they will still be playing this weekend with stand-ins. Secondly, Impulse11 will be replacing melty eSports.

FishStix announced it a while back, but this weekend it's finally happening: The ONOG Overwatch Invitational. Four European teams and four American are set to play throughout the weekend for the $3000 USD prizepool! The current top 3 teams of each region were invited, and last week Melty eSports and The Life of Hanzo managed to qualify to finish the lineup.

Due to the nature of the event, with neither region being able to claim hometurf, the server that will be played on will (most likely) be switching frequently throughout the matches. The official rule is: Higher seed picks first, Loser picks next server.

A total of 15 matches will be played over the span of two days, April 9th and April 10th. Due to the Double Elimination bracket, teams will have a chance to grow into the tournament and will not be kicked out just because of an unlucky first round.

  • Payload and Capture Point maps will be decided by traditional Stopwatch rules?—?after taking turns attacking and defending, the quicker time set or the furthest progression wins the point.
  • If both teams get stuck on the same objective soon then the map will be counted as a tie, and no points awarded to either team.
  • A win on a Control map counts as a point.
  • NO hero limit. 6 D.vas all day, if you want.
  • Use OWDraft.com to select maps?—?higher seed picks first. Loser picks next.
  • Bo3 up until WB/LB finals
  • Bo5 for WB/LB and Grand Final. Grand final bracket can be reset by LB.
  • $1500 USD for First Place, $900 USD for Second Place and $600 USD for Third Place

As shown, with a collection of teams such as this event's, there are only good matches! So be sure to tune in when the event and broadcasts go live! The following streams will go live on 10 AM PDT/1 PM EST/19:00 CEST:

People might have realized that this event take place during the same time that we usually host our own GosuGamers Weeklies. But we have gladly decided to skip a weekend in order to fully support this major event that will surely be enjoyable for both the players and fans of the scene!
