Another weekend, another set of GosuGamers Overwatch Weeklies.
It's that time of the week again, our GosuGamers' Overwatch weeklies will be played out again this weekend. We will continue to use the same ruleset we followed last weekend, with the new way of drafting maps which can be read below:
New map draft rules:
• Map selection for the series is to be done by a map draft on http://owdraft.com - either team captain creates the draft and links it to the opposing team.
• Draft tool settings: Starting team = Random
• Teams take turns banning maps until 3 maps are left (5 for a bo5 series) - the remaining 3 or 5 maps will make up the map pool used for the series - teams will then continue banning until there is only 1 map left - that map will be the first one played in the series - the team that went second in the drafting process will get to choose the starting side (attack or defense) for the first map
• For game 2 and onwards the loser of the previous map will choose the next map from the map pool that was determined in the map draft and the winner of the previous map will get to choose the starting side - each map can only be played once in a series
One thing that will be different this weekend though, is the addition of the new Control Map: Ilios. We have decided to add this new map to the map pool already, and we hope to learn the ins and the outs of the map together through the eyes of the players and casters.
Last weekend was also the first time we enabled crowdfunding through Matcherino. Thanks to your help we were able to pay out an extra ~$750 to the top 2 teams. Some of comments left by donators include:
